Sorry I was MIA at the luncheon - Medical Emergency

Hi Ya'll, I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am that I could not make it to the luncheon. I had every intention of being there but my best friend's sister was in a serious car wreck. She sustained major injuries ... several spinal fractures, crushed femur leg bone, crushed wrist, etc. etc. She now has metal plates and screws in her wrist and leg and is wearing a body brace that looks just like Mr. Peanut. All she needs is the top hat. At any rate, I spent Saturday trying to gather and buy clothes that will fit her now that she has the braces, casts, etc. She will be in rehab and a nursing home wheel chair bound for at least 5 months. She normally wears a size 10 but nothing will fit because of the swelling and braces. So I spent my entire day and evening trying to minister to the needs of a friend in need. I made the fatal mistake of going down East County Line Road for shopping. I had no idea the traffic would be that bad so soon before Christmas and I lived on East County Line Road for years!!! I went to Barnhill's for lunch around 3:00 P.M. Threw up 3 times before finally getting down a 1/4 cup of soup so I wouldn't have been able to eat at the Golden Corral anyway. It was much too early in the day for me to eat solid food so I would have been excusing myself from your table anyway. You would have remembered me as the lady who kept running to the restroom. Does anyone else do this??? I wanted to call and cancel but I couldn't remember the name of the room that was reserved. I hope I will meet you all soon. DeAnna, please post the details of the meeting at CMMC. I will try to make that if it doesn't meet too late in the evening. Thanks for understanding. Hey, so sorry about your friend's sister. And, that's right where you needed to be. I know that was a big help to them. We did have a big ole time....Arlies says we are to do this once a month, so I forgot the place, or maybe we did not pick one yet, but we are going to meet I think about 12/15 (will post soon with exact date and place, etc). The CMMC meeting is Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. I heard it is in the clinic next door to the hospital (will find out tomorrow (Monday) exactly where it is). DeAnna
