Recently had GPS at River Oaks by Dr. David Carroll

I had my bypass surgery on 10/3/06 and will be going for my 6 wks checkup on 11/13/06. I would like to join a support group and also be able to share experiences and problems with others. At the moment, I am not in a support group and feel I need it. Can someone out there help me?

Hey - there are a few (well two) meetings around that I know about - I think they both meet on the send Tue of each month- Several of us on this board go to the meeting at CMMC, it is at 7:00 every other Tuesday. The other is at UMC, not sure where or what time, but you could call them and see when... I really enjoy the CMMC group, lots of info, and good group of gals and a few guys. I did not go to a group during my first year or two out and really wish I had. We will be meeting next Tuesday at 7:00, I believe in the new building next to CMMC, if you cannot find it, just post again or e-mail me and I will find out for sure where.... Usually lots of support on the MS OH board too - so post when you can, just join right in. DeAnna

There are a lot of people living in the Jackson area willing to help you with your journey and the board is here to support you and we will give you advice to make things easier. Hi Linda, I think you've hit the jackpot with finding a caring, friendly support group. I'm new to this group as well, but the response has been uplifting. I hope to meet a lot of the members at Golden Corral in Flowood off of Lakeland Drive at 10:30 A.M. this Saturday, November 11th. If you're up to it, join us there. We'd love to meet you. Congrats on your surgery. I see you used my surgeon as well so we may have seen each other in his office waiting room already. If you have any questions, just ask. It is for everybody, I think especially newbies and people looking to have surgery, and so we can all see each others bright shining faces....LOL... DeAnna
