The sugar bug has been after me bad lately (well over the last many months), but be proud of me!!, today I actually had the kids hide their halloween bags, and gathered all the extra candy, put it in a big ole tupperware bowl and sent it with Jim out the door.... So, I am encouraging all you to just get it out of the house!! Saw that woman at the gym this morning, you know, the one with the "perfect body", now every time I want to binge today I am going to just think how much I want to look like that, and I could if I just get this binging and grazing under control I can definately look and feel healthier! Love to you guys! DeAnna

Hey Deanna, Good for you!! I had to go to Dr King for my first Band adjustment and did not get home until 8pm (I live 2 hours from Oxford). I did not have to deal with any candy. It's hard to walk away from that stuff. You will get it under control. I believe in you. Cindi M

Well, in all honesty, it (the CANDY) came back this afternoon and tonight - Those people I live with are going to have to remove all traces of it by tomorrow - I am seriously going to try to start tomorrow the 8 week sugar detox - I had no idea I had so much of it in one day! Guess I am seriously addicted - Thank for the encouragement, it means so much to me. DeAnna

I am soooo proud of you!!!! If candy comes back and no one takes it away, just dump it in the trash, and throw it away. I have had to throw away a lot of stuff, but it is the easiest way to deal with it, or send it to school for the kids and let them eat it up. Anyway that you can get rid of the stuff do it! We just have stuff made mostly with Splenda now. It is ok and even tastes good after you get rid of the ole Sugar Bug!!!! Sugar is sooo addictive and I am right with you on it. It is so tough to break the habit and I believe that most of my pre surgery weight came from the sugary things that I ate not food. Hang in there!!!! Love, Cheryl

Hey - getting easier as I seem to have a resolve not to have it, don't really want it today - this is the end of day 2 !!! I bought some Atkins Advantage sf lf protein bars, and when I get a craving I get one of those or a cheese stick - Have actually eaten a lot less these two days just going without sugar, not craving as much....exercising a lot too... Got some sugarfree hard candy too, you're right, it does take the craving away when not having the "real" stuff... Thanks so much for the encouragement Love to ya - DeAnna

Get tough on those folks in your house. I surely have had to. They just have to understand that mom has an addiction and eating disorder and our house has to run a little differently because of it. If I were an alcoholic they sure wouldn't bring alcohol into the house. I say what is the difference. An addiction is an addiction is an addiction. Everyone has their poison. And food is the toughest one becasue you can't just quit it and never have it again. We have to eat everyday and face our addcition every single day. Man, it can get tough. Just throw the candy out. Better in the garbage than on your butt and thighs. LOL. That is one my grandmother used to say. Melissa

Got it under control !!! I am now sugar-free for 3 days - don't even seem to want it anymore, and part of that is the determination to get back to losing weight - I finally have more energy - did not realize how bad I actually felt until now that I feel sooo much better - Been swimming laps Mon/Wed/Fri (at 5:00AM), and have taken a couple of karate classes with my kid - jumping on the trampoline - sister, do I have a lot of energy now....And you are right, if I am having trouble with candy/sweets, they WILL go in the garbage !! Those people in my house will just HAVE to help me out there....I have been going to the support group meetings also at CMMC, that has helped alot. The anemia seems to be under control, and if I ever feel that fatigued again, I will go straight to the doctor....I know now that the weight gain was strictly from the ulcer - the anemia that came with it - I probably had it for 6 months or longer (doctor said I had been working on it for a while). Just felt tired and hungry all the time, and could not exercise. Finally, so much better!!! Thanks - DeAnna

I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!! I don't have kids except my daycare kids. The sugar addiction has been biting my butt too. I even found myself overeating the splenda hard candy too. I get big time gas from too much sugar or splenda or any kind of substitute. Please remind me when the support groups are meeting in Jackson. Call me ASAP--please. I am serious!!!! I hope they are meeting the week of Thanksgiving. I will be on vacation from both jobs that week. I GOTTA GO TO A MEETING SOMEWHERE SOON!!!! I miss going. The holidays are coming and I want to be ready for the emotional eating syndrome. I will be in Brandon at least one whole day the week of Thanksgiving, visiting my friend. It will be the first of the week. Glenda 601.433.7901 If I don't answer I will call you back.
