Hello Everyone!! I apologize for not posting in a long time but with school starting back PLUS youth football (both sons are playing midget league) -- not to add extra 'stuff' it has almost been impossible to keep up!!! I do want everyone to know that I went for my initial appointment with Dr. King September 12th. I saw the pyschologist the same day and was given an "A-Okay" mentally!! I returned to Oxford Tuesday (24th) and had my endoscopy done plus the vena cava filter was implanted. I also saw the cardiologist the next day (Wednesday) who gave me a clear bill regarding my EKG and family history. All went well with the exception of bacteria discovered in my tummy. I am presently on PrevPac meds for 14 days ; I return to see Dr. King a third time next week. I am not sure what will take place next week but I am thinking a 'tenative' date might be scheduled depending on the meds. Also, my husband has not been able to sit down with the doctor and have a 'heart to heart' with him. Keep me and my family in your prayers!! s keep you all safe, Wanda Mack

Jitters - yes, very normal. It is very exciting and a little scary at the same time, but well worth it when you have weighed your options and gotten all the information you can get.

Hi Melissa... I am feeling remarkable GREAT! I am surprised at how well I feel. I was having trouble getting my protein in. I was supposed to have at least 2 shakes a day, but have had maybe 5 since surgery - I just couldn't stand them. I ordered some unjury - I can at least tolerate that - and am working on my first one for today. I know it is going to help me feel alot better =) Thanks for checking up on me. Connie

I did not like protein shakes either. One thing that I did was to take milk and add carnation powdered milk and the sugar free chocolate syryp and mix really well. I bought one of those little hand held mixer wands. Pour it over crushed ice. It taste remarkably well in comparison to protein shakes. I would also take the sugar free pudding mix and add carnation powdered milk to that in addition to the regular milk it called for and that gave that a little more protein. Melissa

Wanda, I also used Dr King. You should get your date this time around. Get your hubby in there this time so you don't have to go back again before your surgery. It's OK for him or you to be nervous. My husband still did not want me to have the LapBand done the day I went to the hospital. I am 5 1/2 weeks post op and have lost 16 pounds since surgery and 26 since liquid diet. I go back Tuesday for my first fill. It was worth all the stress to have the surgery. Hang in there! Praying for you!! Cindi M
