Grenada, MS Support Group

Hello everyone! I am 3 weeks out and have really gotten a lot out of reading all of your posts! Very informative and inspiring! A friend of mine and I are starting a support group for folks that have had or are considering any form of weight loss surgery. We will meet twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00pm...with the first meeting on Monday, November 13th at 7:00 at the Days Inn in Grenada, MS. At that time we will discuss the proposed meeting times & dates. The group is going to be informal and open to all. If you are interested and would like more info relpy to this post.

I don't live in the area, but am so glad to see you two starting a meeting in your area. I have really come to love, look forward to, and get a lot of support from our group meeting at CMMC. So, keep us posted on how it goes. DeAnna

Thanks for the reply! I notice that yoru surgeon was Dr. King. He did mine as well. How long ago was yours? And when will he let me have somethign other than soup?!?! LOL

I had surgery 06/2003. Dr. King was great through surgery. I do not go there anymore because it is just too far mainly. He is pretty strict on what you can or cannot eat, but I think that is the best way to be, so he will graduate your diet little by little, soup, then soft foods - not sure of the time frame anymore - but it was SLLLOOOOOOWWW....D.

Hi Heather, I am in Cleveland and would LOVE to be part of your support group. :clap: Now here comes the "BUT".....Unfortunately, I don't see well at night and I drive a hoopty. My family would probably flip out if I tried to drive to Grenada alone at night in my Fred Flintstone mobile....LOL I'm gonna try my best to figure something out cause I need to be around y'all as much as possible to learn a thing or two. Alot of what I've read on here today has flown over my head and I am 20 yrs out. :-$ I am totally impressed with how knowledgeable and dedicated y'all are to the fight on fat and each other. And all the pre-op testing is amazing too. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can get my behind to the meeting. Y'all are gr8 and I like it here already.:-D Bye 4 now..... Hi Leanne, We are just starting the group so no secret santas yet!!! althought it is a good idea!!!! I hope you can make it. There are a lot of nice folks here so it should be a good group.
