Hi all, still lurking on the Mississippi board checking out my neighbors. I have lost 101lbs so far. No complications. Can't wait to head to North Mississippi for Thanksgiving. This is my first T-giving without Mother. Going to Southhaven to be at my sisters house. How ya'll spending it?

Congrats on the weight loss. I am not sure yet where we will be for Thanksgiving. We are usually at my Mom's and Dad's right down the road. But sometimes we will go to my husband's family's get together in Alabama. Who knows with us? We fly by the seat of out pants. Drives my husband nuts, but that is just how I am - spur of the moment. Congrats! Sounds like your weight loss is going great! I bet it is nice and chilly up there where you are!! I am freezing down here in South MS. Thanksgiving will be spent in GA with my family. I can't wait, it is the only time of year that I get to see my entire family. I hope everyone has a great one! Rhonda

I think Thanksgiving doesn't get the credit it does deserve. I love it and the time of year. But they push Halloween so hard and are shoving Christmas decorations in your face that it gets no recognition. But its the time of year that is crisp and cool and the trees are making their showey last curtain call before the winter slumber.. a huge burst of color with a promise that they will come back spring green soon....and I am freezing my tailbone off up here,,and will have a hard time finding a baking hen up here in these parts.....~~

Try looking for a capon. I think that's what they call a baking chicken up there. It's actually a neutered male chicken but I've heard they are pretty tasty and tender. Hope this helps! Meghan
