I need to start eating a decent breakfast and I was wondering what you guys eat as far as cereal is concerned. I do not eat oatmeal or grits and I sure don't eat eggs. What other options do I have for breakfast? Sundays I usually eat 1 pancake with SF syrup and a piece of bacon, but thats just on Sundays. I need something quick and easy during the week like cereal. Does milk have too much sugar to be eating with it or what?? Will it cause me to dump? Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Karine

Sometimes for supper I have eaten 8 frosted mini-wheats in enough milk to soften them mini-wheats. I use 1% milk. I do NOT like milk (never have) so I don't drink the milk left in the bowl. I use 1/2 to 1 cup of 1% milk to mix with the 1 to 2 scoops of protein powder. I don't eat that much cheese now so the milk is okay. I do like fat free small curd cottage cheese with a baby food fruit on it for a meal. Another way to look at breakfast is ... it is a meal time...not necessarily a time for breakfast foods. Eat something from supper the night before. Remember we all use to love leftover pizza...same principal. I also like cheese melted for 12 seconds in the microwave on 3 whole wheat crackers. Very good. I found a low fat, low carb sharp cheddar and I bought some Farmer's Cheese (white) that is good melted on the crackers. 9 times out of 10 I have a protein shake with 8 ounces of 1% milk and 2 scoops of chocolate protein powder...40 grams of protein in one shot. I drink it on the way to work. Cheryl

Karine, A lot of cereals are made with Splenda now, you just have to read the box. I eat Fruity Pebbles made with Splenda, Cinnamon Toast Crunch made with Splenda and I think they make Trix with Splenda now too. I also will eat the regular Corn Flakes, Rice Krispies and things like that. Most mornings I eat Oatmeal though, the cereal is usually a snack in the evenings before bed. Also, Cream of wheat is yummy!! Best of Luck! Rhonda

Our Walmart carried the cereals with Splenda for about a month, now impossible to find. Really liked them, and felt better about giving them to the kids...D.

How much cereal and how much milk can you all hold? Just curious, as a pre-op. I know now I can eat 1 cup of cereal with 1 cup of milk and be semi/not really satisfied.

It depends on the type of cereal I'm eattin, if its grape-nuts , raisin bran, anything real high in fiber and whole grain, i can eat about 3/4 cup. I know if i was to eat some coco puffs or fruity pebbles, or some other crap like that i could eat half the big box! I would dump fo sho, but i could hold it! haha Its pretty much like that with all foods the crap goes down and dissolves into nutting leaving me feeling hungry in no time! I can eat a whole big bag of chips a big bag of popcorn , I'm sure a could eat a half a whole cake or pie if i tried! haha But a a small chicken breast or small steak , fills me up and keeps me full and satisfied much longer ! dawn~~

Hi Karine, I eat Special in the blue box... it's 9 carbs, and 10 g of protein in a serving. I put a 1/2 banana in it and 2 sweet n low's. I had to get use to the taste of it. But I eat it before I got to bed every night now. I love it and it helps me fiber wise. there are severeal cereals that u can eat that are sweetened with splenda, but not enough protein in them, and protein is what we need Take Care, Jo
