Update on the Hong Kong scene.....
Hi guys, been a while since I posted. Things are going pretty well for us now. Don is three weeks out from having surgery for a growth in the lower part of the stomach. He is healing nicely from an open surgery, and although still week progressing well. He will go back to work at the end of October hopefully. I am teaching as always and the year is passing quickly. We have our fall break week coming up next week, which is good since my birthday is next Saturday and it is good to be off work on your birthday! LOL! Poor Don had his birthday in the hospital.
We are looking forward to coming home in the summer. I am beginning to start packing things we do not need in an effort to not put off stuff to the last minute. Weather is still so hot, we havent had a good cool day yet, but I keep being hopeful. My weight has stablized at 150 and I can wear a size 12. I think that this weight is good for me and I feel comfortable. So far, I havent been sick at all, and that is wonderful. Just working like a fiend at school the paperwork demands seem to get heavier and heavier. We will not get Thanksgiving as a holiday, but will have 2 weeks off for Christmas, but we will stay in Hong Kong since it is so expensive to fly home.
Hope all of you are doing well, too!
Still enjoying the ride!
Cheryl
I love getting updates from you!! You sound just wonderful. Can't wait until you are home this summer!
Think after Christmas gonna see if you will find me a piece of jewelry or something cool from Hong Kong, maybe something gold with jade - Usually get cash for Christmas from my D-MIL. Your ring was so pretty (been lusting after it - LOL)....
Love to you - D
The ring that I got came from Greece. I paid 350 Euros for it. It is handmade in the Byzantine design. Those can be ordered thru the web. You can use pay pal which is safe, and can look at designs. Look under Greek gold jewelry. The jewelry in Hong Kong is sold by gold weight and makers fee. The best is pure gold but it is very soft. Jade is sold by the stone, the bright green is the best quality but it is more than gold cost. I can try to see what can be bought locally and send you some photos. I love the earrings the most, they are beautiful and never bother your ears. But they are not large....due to the weight of the gold.
Thanks so much! I had forgotten you said you got it when you all went to Greece, was thinking you got it in Hong Kong....This is your last year there for now?
I love my stone bracelet - what was it called? I got the brown, and Arlies got the green and they are just lovely. It does make me happy when I wear it.
