Hi!

Hello everyone, I am new to the forums. I've been reading for quite some time, but have decided to join in now. I am currently doing a 6 month physician supervised diet so that I can get approval for surgery. This is my first month, so I have a ways to go yet, but am hoping it passes quickly. Just a little about me...I live in the Jackson area (Byram actually) with my hubby and three children. We've been married for 12 years and we have and 8 year old boy, 5 year old boy, and 2 year old girl. I am a stay at home mom and I also homeschool my kids. (Any other homeschoolers around here?) We've only lived in this area for about a year and a half, prior to that we lived in Mobile, AL. I have been overweight all of my life. I went to my first weigh****chers meeting at about age 10. Since then, it has been a steady climb up. I am hoping to have surgery so that I can improve my health and be a better mother and wife for my family. I'm tired of sitting on the sidelines. Welcome to the boards. Glad you decided to join us. I am from Alabama. I grew up in Monroeville, Al. But I lived in Mobile before we moved to Mississippi in 1997. Still have family in various parts of Alabama. Some in Mobile too. So we still visit often. I will actually be in Mobile on this coming up Thurs. and Friday for work, but I plan on seeing family while I am there. Good luck on getting your surgery. Hi April, glad you have joined in. I wish you well in your journey. The waiting can be torture, but it is worth it in the end, so hang in there! I was actually born in mobile and have what's left of my daddy's family there, lots of cousins, my sister lives there now in eight mile. My family name was champion. So woo-hoo for mobile! Anyway don't get discouraged, keep us informed!

Thanks for the welcome!! You all are an inspiration I find myself reading profiles on OH for hours each day and just daydreaming about it being my turn to be loser. I do hope your right and these 6 months fly by. It is so hard to wait!

Hi Sue, So nice to meet a fellow neighbor in Byram. I am surprised to find anyone from Byram here since its such a small place. I am *thinking* of using Dr. Cleveland or Dr. Cummins unless I hear anything that changes my mind. Hey, and welcome "on board" - great group on here - I live in the reservoir/Brandon area. I also used Dr. King, but would not hesitate to use Dr. Cleveland here, I had just moved from North MS and went to Dr. King because I had already seen him and he is an excellent surgeon. But I hear great things about Dr. Cleveland. There is a WLS support group meeting at CMMC tonight at 7:00. The meetings are for anybody, especially if you are pre surgery. Come on down if you would like to meet some of us in person. It is the 2nd Tuesday every month. DeAnna
