First of all, an apology to all. I have not yet gone back and read the boards, but I do know that I have missed some awesome things. Congratulations to the surgery newbies (YEAH, MEGGERS!!!) and welcome to the board to the new folks. About a year ago, I was diagnosed thru a clinic associated with UMC as having hemirhoids. Most of you know that I have whined and complained about them off and on for a long time. Last week, it just got to be too much and I went to my new doc who is assoicated with Baptist and told him to just bend me over the examining table and snip them out. He examined me, and lo and behold I DID NOT HAVE hemirhoids! I had a peri-rectal fistula that was EXTREMELY infected. (the infection mass was about the size of a large egg) He had a Doc friend that is a surgeon that he called who saw me immediately. And the same afternoon I had surgery to remove it. The surgeon said there was one teeny-tiny hemirhoid that I'd have never known about, but he snipped it too. I am on massive antibotics, am crankier than HE!! but am starting to feel good again. I have not felt very well in MONTHS AND MONTHS. My sissie told me that I was prolly just shy of going septic - I only wanted to sleep and barf. And everytime I pottied, I got so nauseated that I couldn't stand it and NONE of the hemirhoid meds - even the prescription ones were helping. And it was such a slow process of steadily feeling worse and worse that I did not realize how severely ill I was getting. I have not felt like doing, going, talking, NOTHING in about 6 months. Now I know why. And I am angry about this, because if I had been checked more thoroughly or correctly, it would have NEVER gotten to this point. So I have been down for the count for a while and have a sore fanny, but am getting better. I will not make it to Jane's bash because I cannot take long road trips for 3 weeks. So take lots of pictures, email them to me and have a good time. smoochies Arlies PS no change in Jim, but he had a recent trip to Arkansas that has him fired up! More details later.....

OMG!!! That kind of fistula is both very painful and very life threatening! I would go back, find that lil' doctor that made the diagnosis and give him/her/it a big ol' piece of my mind!!! Oh, Queenie, I am so sorry you have had to go through all this. It is just too much but at least this part of it is over. Praise the Lord for the new doctor. Thank goodness he's the 'undercover' type of doctor as in, 'let's look under the covers'. I'm doing great. My tummy is still yellow. I just can't get the betadine scrubbed off! I keep trying but I'm attached to my skin. I am hungry. I want grits so badly I almost can't stand it. I'll try to give you a call soon! much love your way. Meghan yellow but still

My dear sweet Queenie...... I am so glad that you got your problem taken care of, I wi**** would have happened months ago so you would not have had to suffer so much. I remember you having this problem back in January when you were at my house, a problem with the pooper that is,(TMI), I can only imagine being in that kind of pain for this long. I do hope that you feel better soon... I love you and will be thinking of you daily, hourly, etc.... Hope to see you again soon. Whenever you can make the trip, the door is always open. Love you! Bless your heart! And I thought you were running for Governor! I am so glad that you found the problem. A Rectoseal surgery is not easy, I had that done and it is a biggie, but I know that you must be feeling much better now. We were quite worried about you cause you usually don't go too long without checking in. I hope that you are able to eat now without feeling nauseated and getting much better. Don't push yourself, take it very easy and heal. I posted some good recipes for protein shakes and stuff a little down the page if you need them.... Love, Cheryl
