MS Board needing a WLS home..

Hello all, I live in MS and haven't been reading this board. I thought it my be time to get in on some nice chats with some MS folks. I had Lap RNY on 4/18/06 and have lost 77 lbs. I seen where there is to be a BASH on Sept 30th at Jane's.I wish I could make it so I could meet some of you. I have a church garage sale that I am over on the 30th, so maybe next time. I do not have a support group anywhere near me and have only been to one since WLS. I miss the getting togather with others and sharing stories and idea's. Maybe this board will help me to relate more to others that have had this surgery. Everyone take care and hope to hear from you..

Welcome to the MS board, I hope that you find the friendship and support that you are in need of on this site. It has been a life saver for me as well as many others on here. We like to make each other accountable for our actions. I have made some very wonderful friends on this board. We try to have a bash ever six months or so, so hopefully you will be able to make the next one. What part of MS do you live in? Maybe you will meet someone else on here from close to you that you can get involved in a support group somewhere. I wish you the best of luck, Rhonda

Hey, and welcome "on board"...Rhonda is right, we have a great support system and have made some very good friends on here....Too bad you have to miss this bash, but I live in the Jackson/reservoir area, and we do lunches sometimes and have meetings at some of the hospitals. But, come on in and post whenever you want or need to....There are lots of us with common problems, or have been through the same stuff and love to share. And, WOW on the 77 pounds....that's WONDERFUL, GOOD GOING!!! DeAnna

Thanks DeAnne and Rhonda for your warm replies. I live in Natchez. I had my surgery in Baton Rouge, LA. It seems to be almost 2 hours to go to Jackson or B.R for support groups. Maybe someone will know about one closer. Please pass it on if you do..Thanks
