I have religiously paid the gym membership each month over the last year and a half even though no one in my family chose to go ! Well Saturday I had a re-instruction on the machines and GOOD GRACIOUS am I ever sore. Have you ever spent a long time picking up pecans??! That is how my legs feel. Trainer said to only come to the gym this month 3 days a week. Walk the other 4. I am now walking 3.5 miles. I feel so much better. Cheryl

That's what it takes, just get dressed, get in the car and go....I am so proud of you. I am week 5 after a hysterectomy, and cannot wait for the doctor (hopefully next week) to release me to go back to the gym and get back to exercising regularly. It does feel so good - well, after the first few days of being sore - to be getting back in shape.... Good luck, do lots of stretches and walking - D.

I went to the gym this past week too! I got on the treadmill and the elipitic rider. I was pleasantly surprised that I could do the 'cardio' function on the treadmill and I went nearly a mile doing 3.5 on a 6.5 incline without getting winded. Before I lost my weight, I couldn't even walk a half mile on a flat surface with out feeling like I was going to fall out! Boy was I ever sore the next day or so, but ive been going religiously! I skipped over the weekend to let my legs heal the sorness is gone and yesterday I walked 35 min on the treadmill and I did 10 minutes on the eliptic rider. That thing will kick your butt! Dawn was right, it gets addictive, and im really starting to love excersise! I excersise at the gym here on base and they have tv's set up in front of you so you can watch tv while your are going on the treadmill . I'd love to start lifting weights but im afriad to with my hernia I have, so I guess for now I will have to stick to the treadmill and eliptic riders. Have a great day! crystal
