Anyone Notice Change in Sense of Smell???
Hey, Girl, how ya doin? I'll be seeing you tomorrow. I think Dr. Avara's office told me they changed your appointment to 12:00. Mine is at 11:30.
I need to talk to Darla about insurance so I'm planning to get there a little early. I hope Blue Cross is not going to pull any stunts, but I got an EOB from them and it said they were going to ask for more information from Singing River because they didn't understand the charges. I'd never heard of the doctor either.
My weight loss slowed down a lot too. By my scales, I've lost 21 lbs since surgery. Last time I weighed about 1-1/2 lb more on their scales.
See ya soon!
Pam
I'm doing good and feeling good. Getting tired of pureed food and ready to move forward. I got the same EOB from the BCBS. It was the Anesthesiologist and it probably didn't have any details like type of surgery or anything like that. I haven't seen any EOBs from Dr. Avara or the actual hospital charges. I'm sure we'll be fine, they just needed more info than the anesthesia bill had on it.
I'll cya at Dr. Avara's tomorrow and we'll do lunch after. Refried beans... YUM!
Hey Pam, Not only did my sense of smell change, but so did my sense of taste and hearing. Things that I normally would not notice, the smell of something cooking that my tummy does not like, or noise like my son's music too loud, absolutely will drive me crazy now. You will realize all kinds of changes in your body over the next few months but you will learn to live with them. It is all worth it in the end..... The pot of gold is just over the rainbow!!

Yes indeed!!! You are NOT losing your mind. Smells drive me crazy anyway, but after surgery, even more so. I could hardly stand myself either! The smells when I was losing so much were Reallllly bad! And food makes me feel very sick too at times. I cannot stand some perfumes and other stuff, drives me wild too.
