Anyone Notice Change in Sense of Smell???
Ever since my surgery odors, good and bad, seem sharper, more intense to me. Has anyone else experienced this???
Last night we were checking out at Wal Mart and the gum rack next to the cash register had this overpowering sweet smell. I had never noticed it before. My hubby looked at me like I was a little nutty when I mentioned it to him.
Hope You're Having a Happy Sunday!

Pam, I have noticed that I smell stuff that I never even paid attention to also. I guess it's normal. I have a question for you, how much are you eating at one time? I went to my 3 week check up and the Dr. told me that I could start eating solid food now. I can eat about the amount of a whole egg. I was at church this morning and started talking to a lady who is 5 years post op and she said that I should only be able to eat a tablespoon...........I am eating more than that! Is something wrong? Tuesday I will be 3 weeks post op and I have only lost 20lbs. I am proud of that but I have been at 20lbs for about a week and a half. I just stop eating when I think I am full. I usally get a little tight in my chest. Any advice is appreciated~ LOL Lorrie
A tablespoon is a bit extreme. Our pouches should old 2-3 oz, that's quite a bit more than a tablespoon. I had a stall also and just started losing again. I gained and lost the same 2 pounds for about a week and a half, but I was still losing inches. Have you measured yourself? You're body is just going "What the heck?" and it'll start losing again soon. I'm week ahead of you and i have only lost 22 lbs. If you add in the 15 lbs I lost before surgery, that puts me at 37lbs total. Get your protein and you water in and you should be fine.

I agree with Pam L., a tablespoon is too extreme. I had a scrambled egg and a half piece of toast this morning. The first time I ate an egg I couldn't eat but a little over half of it. I have my "3 week" checkup on Monday so I haven't seen the dr. yet, just going by the info Linda Bang gave me. Tuesday will be 4 weeks since my surgery so I'm counting that as the beginning of Week 5.
I get that tight feeling or a pain just under my breast bone and take that as a sign to stop eating.
Hi Pam;
I have noticed a great deal of smell change. Things seem more intense that ever. I can hardly walk through a bakery. I feel nauseated. I am 9 months out. So I am not sure if that will change with you but for me it is overpowering. I use to love to smell fresh bread.
I am at work today but it is still a good sunday.
