Things are better now...

Thanks to all who showed up tonight at the meeting... It helped my husband deside that he will support me 100%... There was a lot that he didn't understand about WLS before and now with everyone's questions and with Dr. Dolan's anwsers he now does... He says if it will make me happy then it will make him happy... I'm so glad that the meeting has helped him come around.. I know it's going to be another couple of months before I'm going to have the surgery and that is by my own choice.. I know with each meeting we will both learn more and more... I am sorry I missed everyone. It was storming here in Waveland and I am a chicken driving in the downpours we get here especially after dark. Next time I will have my husband drive and send him off to shop at lowes and homedepot during the meeting. I am sorry I didnt call you Rhonda. Gene took me out to dinner and time got away from me. Yep, information is the key.. Usually, like you said, they have heard so much bad stuff about WLS that it just sounds like a bad idea, or a stupid idea...I was actually that way when my mother-in-law first started talking about WLS (she had it about 10 years ago; I had mine 3 years ago), but then I went with her to a meeting where the doctor explained the surgery in detail, and the info changed my mind (obviously, as I had it myself 7 years later)....So, now you can concentrate on getting as informed as you need knowing you have his support, that's great...Good luck with your journey. Hey April, It was nice meeting you and your DH last night. I'm glad he is coming around about the surgery. Since Keesler won't be doing any surgery until Jan time frame, you have to time for him to get more comfortable about the decision. Congrats! -Pam
