insurance question

My DH was fired yesterday. Really big misunderstanding & I'll tell ya'll about it later. He did nothing wrong. I guess he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Anyway, how hard will it be for me to get insurance since having WLS? I'm so stressed, angry, & worried. He maybe trying to get an offshore job. If anyone has any connections, please let me know. He's going to get an application today from his cousin who works offshore. He's already checked the stores around here & no one can offer him what he was making at his former job. So he figured offshore might be best. this really SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Melissa, I wouldn't think that WLS would affect you qualifying for insurance. Plus, when it comes to insurance through work, as long as he signs up for it when it is offered, they don't ask about prior health issues. Now, if the new insurance does not cover WLS, they probably won't cover any followup care or issues that may arise. I'm sorry to hear about your DH losing his job. That really bites. -Pam
