Prayer Request

Please pray for my husband, Jim, who was hospitalized today at St. Dominic, after a doppler scan of the carotid arteries which showed 90-99% blockage on the right side. There is also blockage on the left but not as bad. He will have an arteriogram tomorrow and surgery on both sides Thursday or Friday. We knew going in that there was some blockage but shocked that there was so much. Dr. Harper's office is near CMMC and he wouldn't even let Jim drive from there to St. Dominic. He didn't want me to do it either since I'm only a week out from surgery, but he thought it safer for me to drive than Jim. Dr. Mundinger will do Jim's surgery. He also did his heart bypass (five arteries) in 1993. We know he's an excellent surgeon. I have no idea how my anxiety has affected my new pouch but hopefully everything is ok. Thanks for your responses. A CT scan today showed that Jim has 100 p/c blockage on one side and 80 p/c on the other. They can't do anything about the totally blocked artery, but around noon tomorrow he will have surgery to open the 80 side. It turned out that Dr. Mundinger is on vacation so a Dr. Kennedy will do it. He told us about the guy who developed this procedure back in the fifties and that he interned under him. Sounds like he really knows his stuff. The pic on my webpage was taken when we were celebrating our 10th anniversary in Las Vegas in 2004. The photographer was very good about artfully posing me so that I looked better than I really do. I think the place was called the Top of the Tower. Thanks for the compliment though!!
