I saw this on the Alabama board by Carolyn. Read on..... Topic: SPOONS A holy man was having a conversation w/ the LORD one day and said " LORD, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like." The LORD led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and told the holy man to look in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle was a large pot of wonderful smelling stew that made the holy man's mouth water at the thought of how delicious it would taste. All the people sitting around the table were thin, sickly looking, and starved looking, quiet, and sad. Each person was holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms. Each person was able to reach the pot and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back to their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of the starving, miserable people sitting at the table. The LORD told him, "You have just seen Hell." They went to the next door and opened it. It was exactly the same as the first one. A pot of the wonderful smelling stew was in the middle of the table again. The holy man's mouth watered. The people sitting around the table had the same long handled spoons strapped to their arms. However, the people were healthy, plump, and were laughing and talking. The holy man said to the LORD, " I don't understand." The LORD replied, "It is simple, it requires but one skill. You see, the people in the second room learned to feed each other by lifting the spoon to feed the person sitting beside them. The greedy people in hell only thought of feeding themselves." "A friend is someone *****aches for you hand, and touches your heart." "People say true friends must always hold hands, but true friends don't need to hold hands because they know the friends hand will always be there." "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle" I may have changed a few words from the original post but I thought it worthy to take the time and space to share. It sure made me reflect and look outside my circle of self. So many of yall have so many more serious challenges than I have I am thankful for all my friends on the board. I love and respect each of you. Please call on me. Yall have surely been a source of strength during some of my challenges, greedy 'self pity parties', and 'opportunties for improvement'. I am, have been, and continue to be extremely blessed. glenda

That is sweet and thanks for sharing. It is so true, everone you meet is fighting some kind of battle and it is not always easy to see. DeAnna.
