Hey, I am using Dr King for my Lapband surgery. I have seen him twice and he did an EGD test on me yesterday. I really like him a lot. I hope my surgery is around September 8th. I have been approved just have some things to get past first. Dr Byars is younger, but seems very knowledgeable also. I meet them both at a WLS Seminar they did in Tupelo. First you will have to talk to Becky Wilson, she is the Bariatric Program manager for the Hospital. Very sweet lady. 800-976-5589. Good Luck and email me if you have any other questions. Cindi

Hi everyone!!! It's been forever since I posted but with this hot weather and school starting back it has been busy !! My best friend recently had open bypass surgery in Oxford; Dr. Knight was the surgeon; she received excellent care. She went for her 2 week check up yesterday and had her staples removed. She has lost 21 lbs 7 oz. The doctor and nursing staff were awesome. I was approved for gastric bypass surgery and Dr. Knight will be my surgeon as well!! I would say the staff in Oxford would be an excellent source. God bless... s keep you safe, Wanda Mack

I did not use them but have several friends who have, they seem to be fine surgeons, with a good deal of experience. I went to Mexico to have mine with Dr. Rudolfo Sanchez. It was a wonderful experience. Banded 6-15-06 no problems. 26 years ago I had Gastric Bypass RNY which ultimately failed. Lapband was a much simpler procedure and seems to be very successful. I am already down 27 lbs.
