Only lost 40 lbs. since May 1st...:(
Hi everyone!..it's been a while since i've posted...been having computer problems bigtime....i just went for my 3 month checkup and i've only lost 40 pounds.....i've lost 90 all together though since the end of December...one thing i found out is that Muscle Milk protein has 640 calories if you use 2% milk like i was....my doc wants me to find a protein with only 150 or so calories....does anyone have any ideas?...i've tried Jims permalene and hated that...and also the slimfast high protein...yuck....i'm very ticky...lol....anyway, i hope if i find a lower calorie one, i'll start back losing....haven't lost any pounds in over 5 weeks now and i'm getting depressed....thanks for any advice!....LORI
Lori,
I gave up on protein drinks. Couldn't stomach them. At this stage, if your surgery was May 1, you should be able to eat some high protein foods. I started supplementing with "Carb freedom" yogurt smoothies. Only a handful of carbs and about 19 grams of protein. They are small enough that you could get in 2 a day. The strawberry was my favorite. I can only find them in walmart back where the yogurt is. Next... They also make a yogurt that is very good, BUT if you have a Kroger, they have a generic Kroger brand low carb yogurt that is very good and give 12-15 grams of protein. I STILL live off of them. It's my breakfast every morning. You can always add some Unjury unflavored protein power to them without much taste difference if you are worried about getting the protein in. Once I started using those products and eating a piece of fish every day I dropped 20 pounds in one month.
Give them a try and let me know how it goes.
That's the best advice I can give at this time. If I think of more I'll let you know.
HUGS and GOOD LUCK! It's really hard to watch those fluid calories becuase in our minds we tend to think they don't count!
