Hey Everyone, I'm back....
Hey to all of you. I have missed ya'll so much. The last several months has been
a whirlwind for me. The last 2 months of the pregnancy I was pretty much on bedrest because of my back. And heres the rest of my story....
July 5th I had a scheduled c-section everything was normal. I had a beautiful little girl she weighed 5 lbs 8oz and was 18 inches long. We named her Maylee Brooke. That night I developed a awful awful headache. The next day the dr's said it was a spinal headache. Ya'll when I would sit up it felt like my brain was gonna fall out literally. The next morning I had what is called a blood patch. They went back in the same site as the spinal they drew blood from my arm and injected it in that site to close the hole. Well that got better it was pretty much instant relief. But after then I still had a nagging headache I blamed it on my sinuses. Meanwhile they put Maylee in NICU because her bilirubin went way up and she would not eat. So I went home Saturday afternoon but she had to stay. Sunday I got up and still had a headache. We went to see Maylee and on the way out of the nursery I started vomiting. My head was killing me so I went to the er. They gave me a caffeine drip for my headache and they didn't ever call my ob dr. They sent me home. Monday morning Wayne and I got up and headed to my ob dr's office on the way I had a seizure. I couldn't see or remember anything. When Wayne got me to the er I couldn't even tell them my name. Ya'll it was an awful feeling when I woke up and didn't have a clue where I was or what happened. I had post-eclampsia. My ob dr was really pissed that the er dr didn't pick up on it and didn't call him. So I got to spend another 3 days in the hospital. Meanwhile Maylee's bilirubin came down the neonatalist was shocked it dropped as much as it did. It was God working. There were so many praying for her and me that it worked. I came home on that Wed and she came home Thursday. We have been doing great since then. Of course my back is still giving me trouble but I am having a procedure on Sept. 7th to hopefully help that.
I hope ya'll forgive me for being gone so long. During all this my computer went wacko and I just got the chance to have it fixed. I have a new email address and I will update that on here. I will never be able to totally catch up but if you know anything important that i would want to know please fill me in.
Glad to be back
Becky
Hiya Becky !!
I'm so glad everything turned out okay for you and Maylee after all, I know that must have been hard on all of you for those few days, I'm sure Wayne was scared outta his mind too. I hope you post some new pictures of you and that new baby soon!!! You know we all want to see the newest member of our family!!
I know a lot of folks probably would say that the doctor in the ER sucked, but girl, look at it this way, it all turned out okay and after all, they're only human. Can you imagine , had we been back in , say, 1850.... what are the chances either you or the baby would be here now with all those complications? Spinals, blood patches, bilirubin lights? hmmm... In a case like that, I count my blessings and forgive that doc for missing the diagnosis. He might have been on shift for 24 hrs already and totally missed the eclampsia, but you're here and everything's all good
Looks like someone UP THERE was lookin' out for you and your family!
Have a great week!!
~Andie~
It is go good to see your beautiful smiling face back on here. I was so happy to hear that we have a new member of the family. I hate to hear that you and Maylee had such a rough time. I am thankful that you are both doing well now. Please post us a picture of our new baby!
Take care and keep us updated!

Girl, I am so glad to see you. You have been missed. I have been thinking about you and wondering how things were going. You have been through an ordeal. But it is all over and improving now. So, you just sit back and relax and enjoy that new baby. I expect to see pictures soon. And when everybody is all good and things are settled back down, maybe you guys can come for a visit. We would love to see ya'll.
Love ya,
Melissa
