Has anyone dealt with his office? I called Tuesday and told them my situation about CMMC and so forth. She told me the nurse was in Clinic, but she'd call me back after in the afternoon. No one called and I figured they were busy, like most doctor's offices, so I waited until Friday morning to call back. I spoke with the receptionist again, I guess, and she took my number and told me that the nurse would be back from lunch in about 10 minutes, and that she'd call me. No one called. I'm sure I'm just jaded from working with CMMC, so I'm trying to remain sensible and calm about this. Has anyone worked with this office that can give me some positive words and encouragement? I've been on this road since Feb. and self-pay since May. I thought it would get easier when I decided to pay for it instead of going through all the insurance crap. I'm going insane, Brandi :~)

Hey Brandi Girl, don't worry, Dr. Salameh's staff is wonderful. They will call you back , they sure won't leave you hanging. His nurse Lori is the sweetest person you would want to deal with. She is so caring. I too have dealt with CMMC and swore I would never go back. The first time I went to them they treated me so rude and like I was a nobody. I actually left out of there in tears. I think you will like Dr. Salameh and his staff. I haven's had my surgery yet, but am hoping to get appt. next week to set up schedule time for it. I just got clearence the other day. Had to get some ulcer's healed before they would operate. Now I am so excited. Call back Monday and ask to speak to Lori, I think you will be so happy with them, they treat you like you are someone and you are special to them. Good luck Kathy :

Hi brandi, Dr. Salamrh is my doc. It is true, you can't meet a nicer person than lori, his nurse. Her direct # is 601-815-6944. Dr. S. Is a very thurough Dr. He will go over every detail with you. It took about 3 months from the first appt. To get surgery, but I would recommend him anytime. I could almost always catch lori at that # around 9am. She has clinic I know on thurs. But once you meet her, you will love her, she is so sweet. Good luck! Brenda

LUV Dr. Salameh!!!! He agreed to take me as a pt to repair two hernias. When DR in Hattiesburg refused to touch me because he did not do my WLS. He did not do my WLS, Dr. Blake the dr. who was there previously--whom I liked also, did my WLS. Dr. Salemeh did my surgery one yr ago, he was also helpful in getting a plastic surgeon to remove panis (belly flab) at the same time. (BCBS only paid for stuff relating to the hernia) At that time he was in transition between new nurses. He was terrific. He really does care. He will answer all your questions. Things move slow at UMC, be persistent. When DR. Blake was there he told me that it is the red tape within the hospital that makes his schedule rough. ***** Get to be REAL NICE TO THE PERSON MAKING APPTS. It does make a difference.******** glenda

Be patient. Lori and all the other staff are great. There is a support group meeting tuesday night at 6:30 pm at the student union building at UMC. It will be a great time to meet them. Our first appt. with Dr. Salameh was May 2nd. We are very pleased. The only hold up is our insurance company's requirements for the WLS. Come to the meeting. Lori is usually there and Dr. Salameh or Dr. Vick will be there. Hope to see you. We will be the husband and wife. glenda and walter

WOW, this is all such good news. I feel like this process has been dragging out forever, so if it's slower over at UMC, it's going to be worth it just to work with a better staff. THANK YOU for the direct number. That is something that is NEVER given out at CMMC, and I'll be sure not to abuse it. If anything, this whole process has tought me patience and perserverance. I'm looking forward to working with them, if I can ever get some actual info on what to do next, lol. I can't tell you how much better I feel now. CMMC had drained the ever lovin' life outta me. I was so frustrated and disgusted at how they treated me, I was ready to go to Mexico if I had to. I called CMMC again Tuesday morning and asked for an urgent stamp to be put on my message for Adam to call me. No surprise that he never did. So that's 4 long weeks of not ONE single returned phone call. Pretty pathetic. So I'm left to just assume the reason the surgeon wouldn't perform my surgery was because of my seizures. The psych told me that her report was overly positive, so once I ruled that out, I can only imagine it was the seizure disorder. The weird thing is that my neurologist suggested the surgery and was 100% behind it. Just wished I could have put closure to it somehow, but oh wellllllllll. Thanks again, Brandi :~)

Lori called me at 9:15 this morning. I am already 100% satisfied. You guys were right! She is so nice and helpful. The only things she needed were my weights from 2004-2005 and a copy of my insurance card. She said she wasn't sure if my psych eval would work for them, but if I had to do it again I might not have to pay for it. The psych there is working with a student, from what I understand, and I won't be charged. Anyway....after she gets those things, she has to receive an official denial letter from the insurance comapany, because I'm self pay. Does anyone know if they'll send a denial letter if I never went through all the steps to actually try and get approval? I just said screw it during that whole process and decided to become self pay. After she gets that, she will call me with an appointment to see the surgeon. I'm so excited. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I sure am keeping my fingers crossed that I will have this surgery done before Christmas.
