Anyone on Coumadin?

Since I had my cardiac ablation last month I found out I have atrial fib. There is not anything that can be done about it except medication. I have to be on coumadin(blood thinner) for the rest of my life. I am concerned about the absorption after the surgery. I know I will have to ask Dr. Salameh about it but I was wondering if anyone out there has been on it before or after WLS. I hope this will not keep for from going forward with the surgery. Hi Glenda: I have been on Coumadin for several years and will be for life. The only thing I had to do for surgery was discontinue it several days in advance, but they gave me blood thinners in the hospital. I haven't had any trouble with absorption. I have my INR checked every 2-4 weeks and am adjusted as needed. Good luck to you! Becky
