Gotta Respect Carnie Wilson
I was watching VH1 and saw where Carnie Wilson is going to be on their celebrity weight loss show. She had a gastric bypass surgery in 1999. She managed to keep her weight off fairly well until she became pregnant. She says she really packed on the pounds as her eating issues resurfaced. She had her baby some time last year and says she still has 40 pounds to lose. She says it took her 3 months just to lose 9 pounds because she would gain lose, gain lose and became frustrated and ill with herself and then eat even worse. It has taken alot for her to come out and go public with her weight regain and food issues. It has to be tough being a celebrity and judged by people 24/7.
I have seen on the main message board over the years where poor Carnie has just been totally trashed by people because she didn't keep all her weight off. I think we forget sometimes that celebrities are human just like we are and are subject to the same problems and issues that we are. I am proud of her for saying, hey, I am not perfect and I have struggled here and I need some help and motivation and someone to help hold me accountable. She says she never wants to see 300 pounds again but still has trouble staying on track. She says she wakes up every morning with good intentions of eating right. But as she said it is easier said than done sometimes. I look forward to watching her on the show. And I hope she kicks butt.
I noticed another celebrity who is going to be on there with her. Do you guys remember Jennifer from the show Family Ties? She was the youngest sister in the Keaton family on that show. I can't think of her real name right now. The show has two teams and is done kind of like Biggest Loser. The teams are all celebrities needing to lose some pounds.

You're right, they do seem to trash her a lot, even though she has never gotten near the old weight, just gained some, which is actually normal. If you think about it, please remind me (us) when the show will be on, cause I do not get to watch much TV (too busy ALL the time), but would enjoy that. Thanks, D.
I agree w/you I appreciate her struggle.
We are all just one spoon/fork/handful away from overeating. It is a daily battle. It requires willpower, courage, faith and desire to change.
I know I struggle w/ old desires for unhealthy/unpouch worthy foods.
I haven't eaten some old favorites for over two years. Do I miss them and the social part of unhealthy eating? YES but I do love being thin enough to enjoy some of the fun things in life I could not participate in before at 400 lbs.
There has been a lot on the late night shows about celebrities and weight issues.
you can go to vh1.com and they can send you an email reminder for when the show starts. but mark your calendars for 8/6 8pm central. i can't wait to see it.
i'm glad that carnie has come forward to let us all know that it is still hard afterward. b/c we all know it isn't a miracle surgery. we still are all human.
GO CARNIE!!
