NEW & IMPROVED COOKIE RECIPE!!!!
Thanks for your help with the cookie recipe. I tried DeAnna's idea first and it seemed to work great! Now they aren't as good as the original recipe, but they beat anything sugar-free at walmart!!! So try them out! I made them lemon this time....and I cook 1/2 recipe and the other half I shape into balls and put in the fridge for later....Cause as long as there is a cookie there.......
Granny's SPLENDA Cookies
1 stick butter or oleo (I use butter cause we NEVER use it otherwise and I don't even buy oleo....!)
2 cups Splenda
1 tsp vanilla flavoring (sometimes I use almond, lemon, orange....)
1 egg
2 cups self-rising flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Cream butter and sugar.
Add flavoring and mix.
Add egg and mix.
Add flourand baking powder and mix.
Roll and cut out cookies, or shape into balls (about quarter to fifty cent size) and squish with a fork to flatten.
Bake at 350 degress for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about two dozen small FAT cookies....the longer you bake the crisper, so if you like chewy, watch 'em close!
Marci emailed me some info on baking with splenda. I should be able to use the SAME amount of splenda as sugar, so with the baking soda, I may try that next time. Also found out that they won't brown like real ones....I wondered about that....I'll email you the info from the web site..
thanks!
