Saw my cardiologist Friday

I have had a problem with atrial flutter for about 5 years now. I had a cardiac ablation in Sept. 2003. I did great til this past Sept. It started back again. Slow at first then by April it was happening every other day. I wore a holter monitor for 24 hours in May and it showed I had more than 6 hours of PAC's PVC's and atrial fib/atrial flutter. The doctor put me on coumadin and atenalol til he could see me. (Hopfully to prevent clots leading to a stroke). I saw him this past Friday. The bad news is that he wants to do another ablation.The good news is he says it will not keep me having GPS. He wants to do the ablation before the surgery to keep anesthesia from having to deal with me having the flutter during surgery. I think that is a good idea too. I can not have the ablation til August 22nd. Our plan is for Walter to have his GPS first then 2 months later do mine. Hopfully it will not be delayed. I am trying to be patient and calm. I knew going that there would be delays. We have our sleep study on July 24th. Walter will be ready for approval then. I will be ready after my ablation and Dr. Paine gives the go ahead to the Obesity Clinic. The waiting game continues. Thank you all again for all the wonderful support!! glenda and walter

That's right glenda, just keep hanging in there, it will happen. Dr salameh is very thorough, just do everything he asks and you will get there. I went quite a few rounds before I was cleared. I had my first consult on jan. 3, 2006 and surgery April 3, 2006, I was busy the whole time, and trying to work and take care of business at the same time, but it was well worth it, I also had to do a stess echo and all thru my cardiologist and get his approval, like I said, it's tough getting there, just don't give up! I am praying for everyone on this board, best wishes!

WHEW! I have no idea what all that meant, other than another delay! Be thankful tho, if you can, that God is making sure all is good for you BEFORE your surgery. Have fun at your sleep study!!! Jim has one on the 31st! I actually enjoyed my second one! But that was because I knew I'd be losing my CPAP! Hang in there time will fly! smoochies Arlies PS you've got mail!!!

Glenda, Be proud you have a doctor that is willing to help you. My doctor just kept blaming my heart problems on my weight. No one would listen to me until I got the weight off. I fainted at school. My heart rate got down to 29 beats per minute. Finally, the doctors took me serious. Hugs, Sonya

Thanks everyone. I feel very lucky to have a cardiologist that is good at his job. I know everything will be ok after my ablation. He is very supportive if my WLS.
