where do I find these? any recommendations on liquid diet
Ok, I was told Sugar Free Carnation INstant Breakfast is hard to find. So far I've only looked at Save Rite & Kroger & they don't have it. So in Laurel all thats left is Piggly Wiggly, Sunflower & IGA. I know I could check out some of the drug stores & also the 2 grocery stores in Ellisville. Anyone have a clue where to get it in hattiesburg? There's a Ramey's in Waynesboro. I also know I could probably get it online but would rather get it myself. Also listed is Ensure Glucerna OS , Choice DM, Glytrol , & Resource Diabetic. Haven't looked for those items yet. Boost High protien was listed but she marked it off cuz it had more sugar than i need. I also thought about salvage stores might have these items cheap, but I'd be affraid to buy them there.
What protien drinks did you enjoy?
Janet also listed Isopure sold at GNC. Is that good?
thanks!!!
Check Walmart, in the pharmacy department. That is where I used to get all my sugar free stuff. Walmart has a wide variety of items. I have to go there to buy my sugar free pillsbury cinnamon rolls, sugar free pillsbury cookies and my cereals made with splenda. Since the hurricane, our commissary is limited to space and aren't able to carry a variety of products. I do remember though that at Walmart, I found the SF CIB in the pharmacy department. Good luck finding the things you need. The only protein drink I ever liked was Unjury, you can order it at www.unjury.com
Once you are released to eat all foods, you need to wean yourself from protein drinks and try to eat your protein, use the drinks as a supplement meal if needed to replace a meal. Be sure when you are looking at these protein drinks that you check the sugar amount, because some of them have high sugar.

Funny how doctors differ - my doc said I should drink protein supplements forever, and I see that most around here (jackson area) their doc and nutritionists say, like you stated, to wean off the protein drinks - I get so confused....But, I do notice if I up my protein it helps with losing weight.
Did they give you a reason for not taking protein supplements? D.
Not really a reason, but I am assuming that it is so we will actually eat food high in protein and not depend on the protein drinks to get all of our protein in each day. There are some post ops that don't eat meat very often and drink protein shakes instead. I believe our bodies need the nutrients that we get from the food. I never really found a protein drink that I liked enough to stay with it, so I am glad that my tummy likes fish and other high protein meats.
I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for all the info so far. Is Unjury only sold online? I may check some prices in a few days at Gnc & other healthfood stores for Isopure. It has 50grams protien. If unjury isn't sold 'in stores' I'll probably go ahead & order some. Not sure If I should just buy a whole container or just a few samples to try it out.
About the CIB. I've noticed boxes saying "no added sugar". It has 7 grams sugar. So I am actually looking for a box that says "sugar free" Right? I did a search online & checked drugstore.com. It said SF CIB but it was the No added Sugar kind.
I have several (3 unopened and 1 opened) canisters of Unflavored Unjury that I plan to bring to the luncheon in Brookhaven on July 15th.... Anybody that wants them just needs to let me know! I tried to use it, but just can not tolerate the protein powders! I start gaging and can not hold them down.
