We went for our psych eval yesterday. When we got there we told them our names and the psych dr said"Oh the husband and wife". We get that where ever we go for our appointments. We went to the metabolic clinic at the Jackson Medical Mall and we were told they were so excited about" the husband and wife" having surgery. They have not had a "husband and wife" do this before. Walter called UMC for his sleep study appt. and was told it would be Oct.11th for the next available appt. Lori,Dr.Salameh's nurse got us an appt. at MBMC. We saw Dr.Whites today. He also said"The husband and Wife". Insurance requires that I have a sleep study also. He was nice. I really wanted to have the sleep study at UMC because I want to support my place of employment, but I also want to get this over asap. Our sleep study is July 24th. The "Husband and Wife" will have to sleep in separate rooms but I guess that will have to be ok to get this done!! I have to see my cardiologist on the 30th of this month and then after the sleep study we hope to be approved for surgery. We have jumped through the hoops and have played all the games required. We will see.............

I am so excited for both of you. I wanted my husband to do the surgery with me but he does not like hospitals at all! Now, he is suffering with advanced diabeties and many other weight related issues and I feel like a kid again. You are going to have so much fun with your new "Extreme Makeovers". God Bless, Sonya

Sonya, We read your profile a while back. We were so impressed that you went out of country for your surgery. I do not think I would have had the nerve. I am in awe!!! You sound like you are doing great & you are an inspiration!!! Walter told me to tell you he hates hospitals too!! glenda and walter

Hey you guys, or "The Husband and Wife" - that cracks me up - but, also absolutely wonderful that you are in it together. I just noticed that you all are from Ridgeland. Have you been to any of the local support groups? I am trying to go to the ones at CMMC, and I know some of us go to University? Anyway, I hope things go smoothly for you and you don't have to wait too much longer....DeAnna.

Hey DeAnna, Yes we have been to the ones at UMC. We work the 7P shift and I have been to several that I could not stay for the whole meeting, but Walter and I went to the one this month and was able to stay for the whole meeting. It was very good. We are excited about doing this together. We grew up together and have been married for almost 33 years,so it is natural for us to do this together. We have been together so long that when someone talks about us it is usually as they are talking about 1 person. Thanks for the encouragement! glenda and walter
