WOOfreakingHOO!
Well, I went to CMMC in the flesh today. I asked very politely to speak to one of three people. I got none of them, just a woman with a mean attitude who basically told me "no appointment, we don't care". Well, I burst into tears, returned to the receptionist and asked to speak to a nursing supervisor or something. Adam, God love him, was in the reception area immediately. He took me back to his office where I spoke to Jeannie. God love her, she had gotten all my information to the insurance nazis on the 20th but had not had the time to call me to let me know she had done so. I cried even harder and thanked her from the bottom of my heart. She hugged me and told me "We WILL get you your surgery, don't worry."
To say I feel better is a wee bit of an understatement.
Thank all of you for the prayers.

Hey Meg,
I called the insurance nazis today and nobody would tell me anything. Just 2 days ago they told me to call anytime and they would check for status of my appeal. This girl refused to help me. You are right they are the "insurance nazis"!!!
Maybe this will get you your approval!! I sure hope so and I am still praying!!

Megan I know how you feel. When I first started my venture on WLS, I went to CMMC. Went to seminars and then they called me for an appointment and went and they were so ugly to me. I took a friend with me and it made her so mad she wanted to blow up,. I swear I would never go back there again. They didn't want to fool with me because Voc-Rehab was going to pay for my surgery. And it just wasn't enough for them. But that was still no reason to be ugly to me. I left out of there in tears.
Thank goodness, now I have a surgeon that is good and his office staff has been nothing but wonderful to me.
Good luck on your venture.
God Bless
Kathy
I'm gonna try the insurance nazis again this morning. I'm over leaving messages that don't get returned. They have all the info they told me they needed so I should my approval, right? We shall see.
You know, I toyed with the idea of finding another surgeon but decided that I could weather the storm at CMMC because Dr. Cummins is such a good surgeon. In the end, I got what I wanted and frankly, I don't mind being a bit agressive if necessary.

I'm glad you got to talk to Adam and Jeannie. They really do care, even if it seems they are busy so much. It's because they are. They are fighting those insurance companies daily, and know the ins and outs of them. It's frustrating, and it's VERY frustrating for them. We also have to remember that they are part of a larger group... CMMC ... and they have rules to follow too. They get as frustrated as we do, TRUST ME! So much of the blame falls back on them, when they are there trying to deal with the insurance Nazi's. Believe me, if there is a way, they'll find it for you. Persistence is the key. You may not get every little update, but believe me, I promise they are working on it for you. I know I called Jeannie daily! She got to know me very well! LOL She still calls me a nut! (pesky nut) LOL They all have a good heart, and really do want to give everyone the surgery. I just spoke to my surgeon yesterday about some concerns I was having with the new way things are happening around there, and he assured me that he was NOT happy with they way CMMC is making things a bit more difficult and what he feel is less than personal. Bear with it honey, they are moving mountains over there. Even after everything I went through in the beginning and after surgery, I'd go to them again in a heartbeat. I trusted that man with my life, and Dr. Cummins assisted on my surgery. Both are a+++ in my book. Seems like all the clinics have basically the same complaints in the beginning. i feel that the insurance blame is falling on them. My surgeon is even working closely with my PCP trying to figure out some things that have come up for me in the past few months that could have a few different diagnosis'.
I'm not sure why I feel like explaining all fo this, I just remember how frustrating it is. All I know is they truly did everything in their power to get me what I wanted in my window of opportunity I had to accompli**** with. Keep plugging along and call, get on that insurance company.
Free free to email me if you need something I can see if I can help too.
HUGS

Thank you all for the amazing amount of support! When I first got to OH I read over and over again that 'We get through all this by mutual support and doing it together'. Whoa, is that ever TRUE! You people are my rock. The Queen is making me swim daily and you folks give me the message boosts I need.
For a group of folks I've never met face to face, y'all sure have turned into VIPs (Very Important Posters) in my book!
Many hugs and big ol' smooches to ALL OF YOU!
