Question?
Hey WLS Family,
I know, I know, I know! I haven't posted in ages. Just been kinda down.
My weight loss came to a halt...then went up 10 lbs... (very depressing) then back down... Then up some... I guess it was from the steriods injections that I received for 3 months, then skipped 2 months and then got injections again for 3 months and my provera med from my GYN. I quit taking it cause I figure that is what was causing my weight gain.
I noticed a yr ago that on the right side of my incession scar it was poking out a little bit.... it's been getting bigger all along..but the past 2 wks, it has really gotten bigger.. to the point of where my jeans doesnt fit like they once did. So I went to my PCP today and he said that it's a hernia.
Have any of you expeienced this? Or know someone that has or had one?
Jo
You might want to go on and have the doctor to check and plan for surgery. Now it is an outpatient procedure mostly and they can repair it with little pain. If it is large, like one I had after a hysterectomy several years ago, then it calls for opening up the scar, and they sew in a mesh to hold everything in, do a scar revision and maybe take off that loose skin too. I healed beautifully, and it was so much better than having half my guts hanging out!
Actually, it is better that you would have it now, you are smaller, therefore heal better, and it will not interfere with Gastric, which is sometimes a problem when you have it done before the Gastric.
Hope this info helps.....
