Hi Everyone.. I went for my EKG, lab work and chest x-ray yesterday. The results were faxed to my PCP this morning. I talked to the doctor about an hour ago and he wants to talk to me. I have a 2:15pm appointment with him tomorrow. I asked him if there was a problem with the results. He said my thyroid level is low, my sugar was borderline, and my liver count is elevated. What the heck does all this mean??? I'm worried now that I won't be able to have the surgery. I've been trying since 2002 to have this surgery (my insurance won't cover it), but now that I'm able to finance it, I run into problems. Has anyone had any of these problems and still got a clearance for surgery?? Please I need some happy thoughts or something that everything will be okay tomorrow at my appointment. I will be heart broken if my PCP doesn't give me the clearance! Karine

When I had my last set of bloodwork done, it showed my liver count was elevated, which was a sign that my gallbladder was bad. That could be what that is about. If your gallbladder is inflamed it will put stress on your liver which could result in a high liver count. Hopefully that is all it is and he can take it out when he does your surgery. Best wishes and keep us updated! Rhonda

Oh, Honey, I dunno....But it may mean that they will decide you REALLY need the surgery and speed it up.....Praying... smoochies Arlies PS The sugar isn't anything to worry about because the surgery is GOOD for that!

Arlies is right, this may mean that you need to go ahead with the surgery right away and your gall bladder,(evil little demon) is on the verge of giving you a very bad time. You will lose the little monster in surgery if you are lucky. Gall Bladders are very devious and bad creatures, make you feel bad all the time. I hope you will have your surgery soon. We will be here to support you! Cheryl

I really think you have nothing ot worry about. The sugar and liver levels go along with being obese. I would be more worried if thyroid levels were high. I think you will be fine and as Arlies said, more the reason to be approved for surgery. Good luck. glenda and walter

Well, I just got home from doctor. He wants to do more testing. He took 5 vials of blood and sent them off to find out whats going on with my thyroid (runs in family) and my liver and also my glucose. I won't know anything until Monday. Its going to be a loooooong weekend... Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words!! Karine
