Edited to add: Did anybody here lose their hair??? Please comment in detail, when it happened and how much. Also, did you add any additional supplements preop or postop that may have helped prevent the loss??? I've been growing my hair out for 4+ years and I'm very proud to have long hair for the first time in my life, just past 4 hooker bra strap length and it's super healthy, thick, non damaged, bright natural silver/white, "virgin" hair. I get gillions of compliments on it all the time cuz it's so unusual, esp at my age to have long hair. It's my best outward physical feature at this station in life. I know the WLS and what I'll gain from it will far outweigh my hair issue, however any helpful hints will be gladly appreciated. Thanks , Krisi

First of all... WELCOME and CONGRATS on your soon to be 2nd...make that 3rd after the heart thing, new beginning! We're so glad you are here! As far as the hair goes.... Mine has fallen out from about month 3 and is still falling out more than I want. I had very fine, thin hair before surgery, so you can imagine what it looks like now! LOL I don't know anyone who's gone completely bald, so don't worry about that! My biggest problem has been breakage. Seems that the ends of my hair stay in terrible shape. Also has a little more frizz to it than it used to. My hairdresser made me start taking Biotin and it has helped alot, even with my nails too! Others have bought the expensive shampoos that have it and used them. Some have felt like it did some good and others felt like it was a waist. My cousin had very thick hair, and long and her's just thinned out a litte. No big deal. The biggest boost you can do is try as hard as you can to get in that protein! Some people say that helped them. I wouldn't fret over it since you have such thick hair. It'll all be ok in the end. HUGS Kimberly

Hey Krisi, Congrats on the date! I'm envious. I'm still working through the insurance stuff. Hair loss was a major concern for me too. I finally just cut mine all off and plan to regrow it at a later date. My hair was to my waist. I have heard that stress more than anything is what causes hair loss. That's just a straw poll I read somewhere but it is worth a thought. Get that protein in and drink, drink, drink tha****er. Also, should you decide to take my path, consider having your pony tail donated to Locks of Love. They take virgin hair and have it made into wigs for chemo and alopecia patients. Best of luck to you! Meghan
