Finally the mountain begins to move ...

Okay ... been on my task of finding out WLS accepted by Tricare Prime in MS. The information that my husband was given by one of the customer care reps proved null including Dr. Whitehead as a potential network surgeon. I spoke directly with the clinic rep and she informed me that Tricare Prime was networked for general practice but not approved for WLS. I felt like I had hit the brick wall again!!!! The Hattiesburg Clinic staff suggested I contact River Region Hospital in Vicksburg, MS. I contacted the surgical department and was informed that Dr. Stephen Sudderth did indeed perform WLS in particularly the Lap RNY. A staff person called me this morning and confirmed that Dr. Sudderth accepts and is a network provider for Tricare Prime. From what I understood I can get the ball bouncing by having a referral sent from my primary care provider. Has anyone heard of Dr. Sudderth??? I don't want to appear impatient and I understand it take longer than a day to obtain a surgical date ... so thanks for being patient with my "gamma of ????? " s keep you all safe!!! My husband works with someone that had surgery at River Region a couple of months ago. He does not know her doctor's name but she has done extremely well. Good luck! glenda and walter
