I finally got hold of someone in reservations at Flint Creek. They are booked through August. We're now planning on just going to Mobile and staying at the hotel SIL works at. It's right across from the park on Mobile Bay and really nice. The guy is sending me a brochure though. I may book us a week for later in the year. We don't have small kids so we can go pretty much anytime we want to. Neither of us are really in to water parks either so a cooler season may work better for us. I'd just like to do some hiking, hang out in a hammock and read or maybe drown a few worms. Thanks for the input!

Susan, There are some really nice cabins in other areas of Mississippi with nice cabins. I have stayed at Archusa and one near Newton, Miss. Not many cabins(3 or 4). Very quiet and serene. Really relaxing with good hiking and fishing. My family loved it! You can find out about other places by call Pat Harrison Water Works at 18007489403. Flint Creek has a lot of cabins. I like to go to the ones where it's not so crowded. Good luck! Sheri

Thanks Sheri. We were looking at the cabins at Flint Creek because our family reunion is going to be held in the pavilion there. We just thought it would be nice to take a few days to relax on our own and not have to do any additional driving. We may check in to some of the other parks on the website to see if there is something closer to Nashville for other getaways. Pat Harrison is the number I called about Flint Creek. They are sending me some brochures. We'll be in MS at some point. We have family in Hattiesburg, Lucedale, Lumberton and probably a few other towns that I just don't know the names of. Susan
