OT - Flint Creek Waterpark & Campground

We are going to be attending a family reunion in Wiggins, MS the end of this month. Can anyone give me any info about things to do in the area other than the waterpark. Hubby and I are planning on spending a couple of days to ourselves before the reunion gets underway. Has anyone stayed in the cabins at Flint Creek? We're coming from Nashville and are really interested more in relaxing than high energy/excitement. Thanks for any input. Susan

Wiggins is a small town. There are a few of our posters here that know more about the area and will be more than happy to help you out. I have not stayed at the cabins there, but all the other state parks that I have stayed at have been really nice and relaxing. I am sure that you and your hubby will enjoy the peace and quiet! There is also a waterpark in Gulfport, it is called Gulf Islands Water Park, I believe they have a website if you want to look it up. Best of luck! Rhonda

I have never stayed in the cabins , but i have friends that go stay there all the time , they love it! Im not a camper so its not my cup of tea, but if you are into that sort of thing, it's way out in the middle of nowhere i have rode threw there but never stayed. My kids have been to the water park there and were not too thrilled with it , but they are hard to please! haha not much else to do in wiggins but relax so if thats what you are looking for you will find it there! If you get bored with it come on down to the coast and site see and shop or there are casinos that are reopened , but very crowed! DAWN~~

I grew up in Wiggins and now i live in *you guessed it* NASHVILLE!!! what a quionkie dink!!! the cabins are nice at Flint Creek....butttt the water isnt all that nice...its usually kinda hot....but its beautiful.... as for anything else to do in wiggins there is NOTHING! you will have to go to hattiesburg or gulfport...and its 30 miles to one place and 31 to the other..lol...Wiggins is my home town. Sherry Penn that posts on here lives in Wiggins also...but since you and I live so close please please give me a call just email me at [email protected] and i will give you my numbers and we can get togeater for cup of coffee or a bite to eat or something...I do not havea support group up here and it would be wonderful to connect with someone that understands. So PLEASE get in touch with me and I will tell you all i can about the waterpark....oh there is a place with waterslides called watertown and its really fun it has a big kiddy slide areas also...
