Im not sure what they will do at the dr , but probably at your first visit just go over your history and stuff like that it souldnot hurt a bit! lol I remember way back this time last year, when i was in your shoes, that i was eatting EVERYthing in site( wait im still doing that, haha)! You are probably THINKING that you will NEVER be able to eat again so you are getting it all in now! STOP doing that ,well eat it but TRY not to gain too much , that will just be that much more you have to loose later! I can , and somtimes do eat what ever it is that i want now , just not a lot of it, so what im trying to say is that yeah the first mo or maybe 2 after surgery you might not be able to enjoy food, but it wont be that way long! So dont shoot your self in the foot buy packing a bunch more lbs, thats just gonna make you feel terriable! Thats my thoughts on it now others might tell ya to GO for it eat till your heart is content! LOL Im trying to loose these last 15 lbs and its VERY HARD,so dont give yourself more work and heart ache later if you can avoid it ! Oh and welcome to the board, Im Dawn , im kinda crazy at times so just over look me and my sillyness! hehe DAWN~~

I am doing the same thing. I think it is nervousness and boredom. Just talk with the doc about how you are feeling. Are you talking with the actual surgeon, or your PCM?? If the surgeon, let me know. There is a great website that has a list of questions to ask. Good Luck, Connie

Hey Kathy, Welcome. We saw Dr. Salameh last month. They first get vital signs and your weight. You will be put in an exam room and wil watch a 30 min. film about WLS. Dr. Salameh will them come in and go over the forms you filled out before going to see him. He will ask questions and then he will go over the surgery in detail. He will show you pictures and will answer any questions. He was not in a hurry and was very kind. I think you will like him. Be sure not to eat anything after midnight the night before. You will have blood drawn. It needs to be fasting,no food for at least 8 hours. You will probably have to have pulmonary function tests. We had ours the same day. Be prepared for that. We were there from 9 am to 3 pm. We got some of the test out of the way though. I work at UMC. I know my way around. I met a woman when we were getting our PFT and she walked all the way from the Pavilion to the main hospital. A little hint. Drive around to parking garage A. There is a side door that you will see alot of people coming and going out of. Go in that door. Go down the long hall. Take the first left. You will see elevators. Go the the 4th floor. There will be a window just off the elevator where you check in. It will be alot easier than walking all the way from the pavilion. Take your parking ticket with you and they will validate it. Lori, his nurse is great. She will schedule your other tests for you. Good luck. glenda and walter
