6 wk pre-surgical Medical Weight Management Program w/CMMC?
Did anyone else have to go thru a 6 week pre-surgical Medical Weight Management Program with CMMC? If so how much does this cost? I had my initial office visit with the Nurse on April 13th and got a letter telling me what they would require for surgery. The only way I could afford to do this surgery was to take advantage of the discounted price of $15,450 offered by CMMC as well as take out a second mortgage on my house to cover the cost.
Now it looks like I have to go to my PCP for the following tests:
a. CBC
b. CMP
c. Thyroid Panel
d. EKG
e. CXR
f. Lipid Profile
I just had a complete physical with my doctor back in January and I am sure most of these tests were done then. We are looking at $175.00 just for her office visit alone (she is an internal medicine doctor), no telling what the tests will cost on top of this. I actually thought the discounted price included any blood work they needed?
The letter also says that they are requiring a cardiologist clearance. I don't have a cardiologist (other than the one I saw in the hospital back in 2004) and I am sure that an initial visit with one will be over $200.00, again not including any tests they perform.
Danny is already worried about complications and how we are going to pay if there are any. When I tell him this, he is going to freak. Anyone that has recently gone thru the surgery with CMMC using the discounted price, tell me what all you had to pay that was not included in the original cost... so I can have some idea to tell my hubby. I am so scared that hubby is going to tell me that we can not do this now because of all these other added expenses.

Marci:
I just saw the nurse on Thursday, April 13, 2006. I'm paying cash, too. You may not have to do the whole 6 week pre-surgical Medical Weight Management Program. Call Adam and see. Also, some of those other pre-Dr. visits may be covered by your regular insurance. I'm going to see if mine are...especially if they are related to something other than the surgery. For example, I've been having trouble sleeping and waking up in a cold sweat. That's reason enough to go see the pulmonologist about sleep apnea. My insurance may cover that and it doesn't have to have anything to do with the surgery, but I can still share the results with Dr. Cleveland. Good luck and I'll be sending you positive thoughts.
P.S. How do we get an angel or mentor?
