First, is meridian still having meetings? If so, could someone tell me when and where? Second, I know we aren't supposed to have caffene(coffee) or anything............But why? What does it do, okay, ya'll can hit me now, but I sure do miss that 1/2 cup more than food!...I must say God has taught me patience in the last few months, I am not whining for food or anything, I think my husband is proud of me. I do, however, only have one more week for full liquids an' then, look out tater soup!!!! I hope everyone's surgery goes well tomorrow. They are in my prayers

Hi Brenda, I wanted to just tell you, those first few weeks really suck, but once you get back to eating, slowly, you will find that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels !!! Just keep thinking about a year from now, what the benefits are and just how much better you'll feel !! I keep all you newbies < and everyone else of course!! > in prayer as I 've been there and know the road is rough at times. Hang in there!! As for the caffeine... I'm not a certified source here, but from what I remember, we were told you can have caffeine, but for example if you have a cup of coffee, don't count that towards your liquid intake, and you should have an extra cup of water for that one cup of caffeine.. because caffeine has a diuretic effect and will make you dehydrate quicker if you don't get the extra water. As a recent post - op, I'd stay away from it for a little while longer. It can also aggrevate your pouch. See what your surgeon has to say to the whole caffeine issue. Mine was ok with coffee after a couple months but totally against sodas ( I still don't even want a soda, I'm hooked on my sugar free iced tea and do drink a lot of water too now, although I still don't LIKE water ) Good luck and keep up the good work. One more week !! That tater soup is gonna be the BEST thing you've ever tasted in your life Take care!! ~Andie~
