New Member Introduction

Hello everyone, I thought I would introduce myself to all of you. I am new to this message board, (I went on main board last night) although I have been reading it for some time now. My name is Dyan and I am a high school counselor. Since I live in a small town and work at the only high school, I would rather not be too specific, but I am in south MS. I am both excited and a little nervous. I am scheduled for RNY on April 13th with Dr. Freeman in AL. At this time it appears that I might be alone on surgery day so please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. Though you didn't know it you have been an inspiration to me during this last year. Dyan, You may be alone physically but we will all be with you in mind and in -spirit. I had my surgury on 2-27-06 at UMC with Dr. Salameah. I have lost 55 pounds (according to my scale) This is the best decision I could have made. Welcome to the MS board. Joyce

Hey Dyan, I am glad to meet you. Joyce is right. You are not alone. We are here for each other. We will be there for you. I have not had surgery yet but my DH and myself are hoping to have it. We will be thinking about you and keep in touch.

Hi Dyan, I am so happy for you. This is the best decision you can make if your health is at risk. We all know it is not the easy way out. I will be praying for you and like Joyce told you we will all be there with you in spirit. Welcome to the board! I know that this is a big decision for you but I think that you will be very happy with the end product. It took me 5 years to decide to have surgery and after some rather rough times, I am losing and feeling better and better. There are a lot of us in South MS who have gone over to the losing side. We will be looking forward to you coming on July 15th (Saturday) to meet us in Brookhaven MS, 60 miles south of Jackson on I-55, Western Sizzlin, middle exit..... Keep us posted on you! Hi Dyan, I'm glad you found the boards. I remember just pouring over the boards for hours before I had surgery in 2002, now I just check in when I can. It took me over a year to decide to follow through and have the RNY. I am glad I did. I don't think I could/would have been able to keep up the pace my family runs if I was still pushing 300lbs. I live in Hattiesburg if you are ever in the area and would be glad to chat. My prayers will be with you on the 13th. Elesha

Welcome Dyan, its always great to have new people join in our rattelings! Good luck with your surgery, i will be praying for you. Come back and post often , it realy helps me alot to be involved with this board , i have made a lot of great freinds on here, they are always here to pick me up when i need it, give a pat on the back for a job well done, OR in my case most of the time, GIve me a good swift kick in the pants when i mess up!
