Financial Stress

I know I shouldn't post this here but feel like I'll feel better if I tell someone. Can't tell my family...they'll flip! Anyway, as you may know I'm a stay at home mom to 3 girls. My DH works full time. From Sept or Oct until Feb or Mar. he was roofing on the side which is really good & usually fast $$$. Anyway, guess we got a little too comfy. We got a few new bills (furniture, loan, truck) during that time. I wrote out all of our bills & added everything up & it looks like now we have more bills than income. I'm SO stressed at the moment. How can I have my surgery this Summer if we don't get this under control? Everyones gonna think I'm an idiot but if theres any chance we can swing it, I'm doing it! Here's what we're thinking. DH has a friend who owns a roofing company & sometimes he has worked with him when we'd need extra $. He's thinking if he can work with him 4 days a month , we can manage paying the extra bills & having the $4200. for surgery in June. I know the smart thing to do would postpone surgery but I don't want to . I want to have it over the Summer. I'm so affraid if I wait some crazy some'n will happen & I'll miss my chance.

i know just how you feel Melissa. I would not want to postpone the surgery. Dont feel bad for feeling that way cause you know that this is going to give you a whole new life. As far as the finances it is so easy to get in a bind quick trust me I KNOW! I try to cut corners as far as on groceries and cut out the eating out and extra drive through coffees and stuff like that. It really does help i mean I was spending like $5-$8 a day just on lunch and instead I have been bringing my lunch and it really helps! Plus I just buy what I need that week at the grocery store instead of buying up like i usually do. I think with your husbands extra work ya'll will be just fine. Just take a deep breath and try not to worry too much cause you know as well as me that the LORD always gets us through! Take care Denise

Melissa, Let me recommend Dave Ramsey's website as a place to get some good info on financial matters and budgeting. He has helped me tremendously. I can't think of the web site at the moment, but if you search for him, you'll find him easily. Hope this helps. Deborah

Bless your heart. I understand financial stress...it seems like we are okay one minute and the next we are barely floating. If it is at all possible, I would not postpone surgery. And don't feel bad about it. You will, in the long run, save $ on eating out and groceries - and I mean ALOT of money! Especially if you turn out like me! Hang in there, girl! It looks to me as if God has provided a way for you! smoochies arlies
