Question about letter....
I was very antsy and nervous, so I called the CMCC Bariatric Clinic to see how the progress of my file was going. She told me that they mailed a letter to my insurance company on the 7th. Now I'm confused about what kind of letter this was. The nurse practitioner told me that they would be getting in contact with my insurance company to see what all was required for approval of the surgery, and that could take up to 60 days. So did they mail a letter asking them this? Or was this an actual approval letter they sent? I didn't ask the lady because she seemed semi-annoyed and it made me a little nervous. I just said, "Thank you," and hung up.
Also.....here's another question. For anyone who's had their surgery done with CMCC, what all appointments can I setting up during this phase? I know I have to have a referral letter from the surgeon to get a Pulmonologist and Psych Evauation Appt.? I'm rambling and starting to not make any sense. Any help would be greatful. I'm trying to cut out as many steps as I can be responsible for.
Thanks,
Brandi :~)
Hey Brandi,
Where is CMCC? Is it Central Mississippi Medical Center here in Jackson? If so, then Adam Dungey is a member of this board and you can email him all your questions. He is very good about answering! I wish I knew answers to help you out, but I don't! All I can tell you is be PATIENT!!! It's hard I know! I lost mine many times during the wait for surgery!
Hang in there, it'll all come together!

Hi, Brandi! These are the tests that I needed to have done for CMMC, some people may need more depending on their health history......Chest x-ray, EKG, CBC,CMP, thyroid panel, lipid profile, and psych evaluation. As of yet, no one has said anything to me about needing to see a pulmonologist. I got a false approval over the phone from my insurance company, so I ran out and got all my test done within a week. I got the real approval on Monday over the phone and I'm still waiting to get the actual approval letter so I can fax it to CMMC. It seems like such a slow process, but anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. At least that's what I keep telling myself.....I can't wait until I get the actual appointment to meet the doctor. Good luck with everything and if you have any other questions, feel free to email me.
