Telephone company

Any body know of other phone companies which are cheaper by the month than Bell? I only need services for about 6 weeks when I am home and I dont want to pay those huge installation fees. I have a mobile phone too, got a new one with a cheaper plan but don't have the number yet to post for all of you.... Let me know if you have some good info....

If you find out let me know! Im dropping my home phione service Bell South is way too high! My bill is over 130 dollars a month and i never use the thing! So if ya'll trying to get me on the phone call my cell from now on!

Vontage with cable internet....Vontage is $24.95 per month local and long distance and long distance is for out-of-state calls....I don't know if they do a short term thingie or not....Think there was an activation fee, but I can't remember for sure.... Smoochies Arlies

I use Speedy Reconnect. I know how much my next bill is going to be. I mean down to the penny. There is no installation fee. You just pay your 1st month in advance. I have a basic line and mine is $45.00 a month. Hubby has everything on his phone. Free Long Distance, Caller ID, 3-way calling, Call Waiting, etc. And his bill is $77.04 each month. I love knowing how much my bill is going to be since we are on a limited fixed income. Good Luck, Jo

Thanks Jo, I will check out this company to see what they can offer. Mississippi is so underserved in many areas. I am planning to bug the he doublesticks out of the legislature when I come home for good! I hate paying for services I dont use! Thanks again Cheryl

I tried Vontage and it is not available in my area, also tried Speedy Reconnect and they serve the Gulf Coast. Only MCI in the area, but I think that they are a *****eaper than Ma Bell. I will try to see what I can get......
