Hey guys
I went back to see Dr. Salemeah today. He said I was doing great. He took my drain out (man that hurt). He wanted me to keep my stables in a little longer. I have lost 12 pounds since surgury date but I have lost 25 pounds since the start of his liquid diet program.
I am feeling better. I feel like my emotions are going crazy sometimes. sometimes I just cry. lol.
I think that the support metting with Dr. Gilbert will be a good one.
Well love to you all.
Joyce
Hey Joyce, I cried a lot in the beginning too, it is almost like you had a death in the family.. not being able to eat eat eat. I am very proud of you, keep an upbeat attitude and don't let it get you down. You will do great! We are all here to help you through it all. If you were on antidepressants prior to surgery you may need to stay on them, I don't think I could live without mine! Well I could live, but I might kill someone else, hahaha..
Love,
Rhonda
Hey Joyce,
Sounds like you are doing great! I had my drain (2 of them) for about a month!!!! And it felt like they were unpopping a cork when they yanked them out! My emotions were like a roller coaster, You will have huge surges of hormones over the next few months. Your body will be discharging terrible chemicals from the fat breaking down! I just know that you are going to do great, just don't pu**** Day by day it is a gradual journey.....

glad to hear you're doing well! my drain hurt coming out, too... i got my staples out yesterday and that helped ALOT with my pain with movement. I, too, have lost 12 pounds since surgery for a total of 22 since the pre-op liquid diet. hehe. you and i are right in line together!
have you had any nausea or anything? I had my first episode yesterday. and oh my goodness, if what i experienced was dumping--i don't want that again! it was horrid. i was sicker last night than i've been ever! and the only cuprit i could find was not eating from early morning, then having some apple juice in the afternoon (i'd not had problems with juice before that--but won't be doing that again any time soon).
no real food yet. i've had mostly jello, juices, water and tea. i'd had soup a couple of times, but after feeling so ick yesterday I just don't want to eat anything now. and my insides hurt. actually, it's gas. it rumbles *all* the time and doesn't feel so good.
i'm on liquids for another week, then get to add in things like grits, eggs, etc. soft mushies next week.
hey girl! bless your heart, that's a long time to be on liquids. I was in the hospital for the duration of my liquid diet, it was hard and I got sooo sick of soup and mashed potatoes! This is the really hard part in the beginning, but now I can eat mostly anything I want even pizza! I just eat a very, very small piece of veggie lovers pizza from pizza hut. Greasy foods really upset my stomach and for some reason eggs do too. Believe it or not, I got deathly sick from eating watermelon!! I figured well its mostly water, it cant be that bad.. boy was I wrong!
Now since Im eating solid foods I have to be careful not to eat too much, because if I do, it seems to get stuck in my chest and hurts really bad!! I have to barf it up to get relief. Thats never any fun! Well im glad you are doing well and maybe we can get to gether next time I come to Philly.
Later
Crystal
Hey Crystal,
The liquids arent that bad I mean they are tolerabale. I am not even to mashed pototoes yet. That won't start till 3-21-06. I can't wait for mashed patatoes lol. I have eaten sf jello off and on today and I have found that really fills me up. The main problem that I am having is these stupid staples. I wish that were all out and over so I could really excersise.
Talk to u soon.
