HEY MISSY or anyother person with lots of nutrition info?

Ok i know that we are not supposed to eat a lot of carbs, but does it matter so much if it is good for you carbs? i had 1/2 a cup of grap-nuts cereal this am , didnt realy look at the label until after i ate it!LOL it has 47gs of carbs! I have been haveing potty problems , so i was hopeing that these would help! Did i mess up by eatting them?

It is not so much about restricting carbs from your diet. It is about restricting simple carbs whi*****ludes breads, crackers, candy, cookies, and anything else processed or refined. Anything that is whole grain wheat is okay for breads and pastas. You want it to say whole grain wheat. Fruits and veggies are good carbs. Meat and dairy are good foods to eat. I have never eaten grape nuts so I don't know where the carbs come from in those. I do know that any carbs coming from sugar are all bad. I would think grape nuts are okay. Don't they have lots of fiber? Melissa

Thanks Melissa! The grap nuts are whole grains lots of fiber ,but that huge amount of carbs scared me!lol I used to eat them long time ago and i love them im not into sweetened cereal never have been! My Pt gave me a menu plan that she gives everybody and that was one of the suggestions for breakfast, so i thought i would give it a try. I think i perfer how my protein shake makes me feel pre work out better! I was kindda nausated them grape nuts musta swelled up on me! lol dawn

I am the same way. I feel better when I have a good ole dose of something really high protein before a work out. Cereal always makes me nauseous if I eat it as a meal. I can do it for a little snack as long as I add a piece of cheese after or something. Maybe it is the carbs affecting my blood sugar or something. I don't know what the deal is with that. I understand your issues with the potty. Ever since my surgery I have been messed up. Stay constipated most of the time when I didn't have that problem before. I wonder if it was the being put to sleep that got me all messed up. I dont' know. Let me know if the grape nuts helps you with that LOL. If so, I will be buying me some LOL. Melissa
