Well here goes. I got a call from CCMC yesterday morning telling me that they had all my info from everybody and that Dr Cummins would be going over my chart that afternoon and that it would be sometime next week when i would get another phone call for my pre op app with her and the nutrionists. so i just sat back and said ok thats cool..... well i went on bout my business went and got the boys took them to the dentist in brandon ,but on my way to getting on the interstate my cell phone rung and low and behold it was CCMC (again)... Jeanie told me that Dr cummins had reviewed my chart and she had set me up an app for March 9 which is next thursday i have to be there at 7:30 and my app with her is at 8:00. IM SO EXCITED but im also NERVOUS and SCARED all at the same time..... does that make anyyyyyyyyy sense at allllllll. I guess because i was not expecting everything to go so fast.... Queen told me the other day she was going to just call me Zippy since things were moving so fast...lol.. ( i just love her.. she is a sweetie)well anyway that is where i am right now... just wanted to let yall know.. guess i wll get a surgery date then huh..... yall take care love yall tonya

OK Zippy, Take a deep breath because you are now starting on a wonderfull but bumpy ride to the loosing side. It will not be easy, it will be filled with lots of ups and downs. Make sure you know the down side and the dangers of the surgery before you proceed. I had my RNY last December and am glad I did, but there are others who feel differently .I'm not trying to discourage you just want you to know it's no cake walk. Your response to the news is normal, a mix of scared ,nervousness and yet excitement is what I felt. I am very happy for you and will add you to my prayers. Tomanip 288/235/155

Thanks i appreciate the honesty. I also appreciate the prayers. I have researched the internet til my fingers feel like they have permantly become attatched to the keyboard. I work with about 15 people that have had it done and have had much success with it. Even the ones that had some small complications said they would do it again. I know that it is a tool and i have to learn to use that tool to help me get to where i need to be...... Again thanks for your response.... Zippy

Oh sweet! Congratz Zippy! Dr. Cummins is my surgeon of choice as well. I haven't met with her personally yet. We just started on my insurance approval stuff. It has been a week and I haven't heard no yet. No news is good news, right? I saw Dr. Cummins at the weekly 'What Bariatric Surgery Means To Me' meeting for prospective patients. She was great! Please keep me updated on what's going on with you. Megs
