the dreaded denial letter

yep, i got a letter from my insurance company on Friday that said i had been denied....i'm trying not to be upset, but it's hard not to....our insurance rep had told me that if i did get denied, to fax the letter to her and she'd fix it to get me approved...so, i'm calling her first thing Monday morning.....i hope she knows what she's talking about.....i went to Dr. Suddereth this past Wednesday for my monthly appointment.....i had lost 13 pounds this month and 18 last month...total of 31 pounds....just a drop in the bucket i know but it's a start....he told me to start the protein supplement....i bought some protein bars from them and i'm trying to make myself like them.....they have 15 grams of protein in each one....but, they are expensive!..$8.50 for a box with 7 in it...i've gotta find something cheaper than that...lol.....

Well, I hate to hear the insurance denied you, BUT it is very, very good that your insurance rep is pulling for you....I think sometimes denial is first nature with the insurances and then sometimes (and hopefully always in your case) come around. You are doing GREAT with 31 lbs lost....The weight you lose NOW won't come back either after surgery and it will put you in so much better shape for the surgery. Trust me it will help a LOT! You hang in there girl and don't lose hope. We gonna get you thru this! smoochies Arlies

Yes, she is wonderful!..she knows all the health problems i've dealt with through the years; and most of them due to the obesity....i'm sure thankful she's gonna help....i think sometimes the insurance companies automaticaly send that first denial letter thinking that it will deter some folks from going on and trying to have the surgery.....save them money, you know?....not me...i'm gonna do all i can....and then some...lol....i feel so much better with just losing these 31 pounds...it's unbelievable....Dr. Suddereth had wanted me to lose 25 pounds to help insure that i would be able to have it done lap....i sure didn't want to have to have it done open....so, i'm just gonna keep trying to lose and keep waiting....thanks for your vote of confidence!!!.....Love ya!! Lori; Good luck with protein bars. After surgery your tastes will change. I have found some at Sam's in Meridian for about the same price for 15 in a box. they are Pria they taste pretty good. Steph

Hi Steph!...thanks for telling me about the ones at Sams..i wrote the name of them down and will go pick some up when i run out of these....that's 8 more bars for the same price!..sounds good to me....i was writing down different protein drinks that folks on here had said were pretty good...but, i lost my list..lol....guess everybody has different likes though...i hate spending money buying something that i'm not gonna like after i get it...i'm a cheapo..lol....thanks again...and you are doing GREAT!!..i'm proud for you....LORI R.
