hey Arlies--how is Jim
WE went to the doctor and honey, I tole ALL!!!! He has appointments now to the hearing clinic, diabetes clinic, ortho clinic, sleep clinic and a nerve convection study as well a a followup with his regular doc in about a month. He came out with a handfull of perscriptions too....I tole her I am too old to start over with a new one and she needs to fix the old one up! She was not real concerned about the BP or the swelling - his legs and feet weren't swollen today, but his hands and face were....she said he had NO indications of heart failure....not real sure about that one myself....she seemed to think re-arranging and changing some of his meds would fix that and the BP. His BP was 171/77 at the clinic and was told that was good. !??!??? She also said the the wrist BP measurer that Jim got at Walmart was not acurate....said they tend to measure high....which may mean (if it's true) I am in trouble since my BP tonight was 96/65......Don't think it's measuring too high myself.....low, maybe....Jim also went to the lab and they drew out about 2 bazillion tubes of blood - he thinks his blood tank is now empty...and we'll know alot more when she gets those results....His kidneys were leaking micro-albuntin or something like that - which is NOT a good sign due to the diabetes, but I am not sure what it is a bad sign of.....I am not real confident of her diagnosis, but she REALLY listened to everything and did say the blood work would indicate problems, if any....so we'll see....she also gave him an excuse so that he can stay home again tomorrow.
Thanks for asking....but I know you are asking for purely selfish reasons and are plotting to run away with him as soon as his medical problems are taken care of!!!!!
Smoochies
Arlies
PS what is really, really weird, is that while we were in the little room waiting for the doc to come in, the nurse told him to take off his shows and socks. He did and BOY does his toenails need clipping...ICK!!! Well, he was fiddling with one of his toe nails (the middle one on the right foot) and the WHOLE TOE NAIL FELL OFF!!!!!!!!!! YUCKIE DUCKIES!!!!! I bout croaked!!! Doc wasn't fazed and Jim showed her his toe and the nail....That can't be a good sign, but she didn't say anything.
My Queen,
Glad to hear it's not CHF.now to find out what it is!
As far as the toe nails, since he is diabetic he needs to go to a foot doctor to cut his nails. That will reduce the chance of infection. My mom lost 2 toes because of infection, diabetics have decreased feeling in their feet and just can't tell that they have ingrown toenails or infection. Don't let him talk you out of it, tell him his future girlfriend said so.
Check your insurance it should cover the office visits since he is insulin dependent.
I'm keeping you and him in my prayers.
love ya lots,
Tomanip
I am glad to hear that Jim is getting a real going over so that the Doc can see what the problem is and readjust his meds! Yes, it is true that we are all after him, he is so good lookin, so you better hold on tight to him!!!!!!! Tell him that he needs to MIND YOU!!!! LOL!!!!
I hope that you are feeling better too these days, I remember that you were feeling a bit down before!!!
