For those of you who might be interested: Tonight (Tuesday night) at 7 PM in the Ag Museum on Lakeland, the Ole Miss Band is having a concert. My nephew, Andy, will be there - he, as I understand, has a steel drum solo, that is a major portion of one of the songs! Em and I will be there, so will my BIL, Jerry and his mother. Maybe Auntie J, too. Come out and see the talent my nephew has! My other nephew, Josh, plays the saxophone and is in the Ole MIss band, but they didn't say he would be there - he may be working, I dunno, but maybe he'll be there too! Smoochies Arlies

Oh I want to go!!!!! I think I'll introduce my little boy to the wonders of hearing a real live band! heh. I love it and haven't heard one (live) in ages... look for me there too. I know where the ag museum is---i assume they'll let me know where to park and go from there?

Well, Arlies, I saw you---I'm sorry I didn't hang around afterwards to introduce myself properly....my little man was asleep and sweating in my arms...we jetted out pretty fast at the end. I hope you aren't offended. I would've sat with ya'll, but had a gf with me and she's really shy with new people (worse than I am). but MAN what a great time we had! I was so nostalgic for my own band days....and my little boy LOVED the drum line. hehe when they finished he said< "mommie, can I play them now?" it was funny. thanks so much for the info--i really had a great time. we'll catch up soon. mary

The guy that stood behind the flag on the stage with the drum line was my nephew, Andy Murphy. He in grad school and has a teaching fellowship at Ole Miss and he taught those drum line folks to do that!!! WOW!!! I just wish you could have seen Andy in action!!! Also the flutist that the band director keep picking on is Andy's girlfriend, Lindsey Davis. They are getting married in May. I was so glad you came! I was afraid I'd not recognize you! But I did!!! Thanks for coming! Smoochies Arlies
