UPDATE ON JIM
Now, don't holler at me, but NO we haven't gone to the doc or er. Jim is stubborner than me sometimes....He is going Wednesday. Yes I told him I think he is going into congestive heart failure....I've been thinking this awhile. No, he doesn't think he needs to go before Wednesday. He bought a BP monitor at Walmart and has been taking his sugar lot. His sugar taker thingie records all his sugar levels so the doc will be able to see those and he is recording his BP. BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!! At Jim's suggestion we went out last night to supper - it's usually me and Em and then Jim says well, bring me something back cause I don't feel like going out with a bunch of folks around (He has a real high stress job too and likes to come home and STAY!).We were gonna go to Fire MOuntain on Flowood, but they were packed out, so we went to Logan's at Dogwood and waited about 30 to 45 minutes to be seated....It was GREAT....When we got home, Jim took his sugar (He had prime rib, loaded potato, side salad, one roll and two glasses of unsweetened tea) and his blood sugar was well over 300! His BP was 151/94. He took his and then mine - it was 117/54 so his IMMEDIATELY went up a bunch, I am sure!!! But we had a good time, he enjoyed himself and even tho it was packed in there, he didn't have a single grumpy word to say. And he seemed to feel good the whole time....BTW, I brought back more food that Em and I ate put together!!!!
So keep Jim in your prayers. I am gonna go with him to the Doc Wednesday so that he tells her everything - and I think he will cause his BP has got him scared - but just to make sure.
Love you all so very, very, very much and thanks for all your prayers and PLEASE keep them coming!

Arlies
Arlies, a large potato has more sugar than a Snickers Candy bar and takes more insulin to process than candy. Jim needs to ditch potatos, rice and pasta, they are terrible to run up the sugar. He needs to concentrate on green veggies such as cabbage, broccoli, greens and other veggies. He can use Splenda if he has a sweet tooth, and he can eat a lot of protein too! (My dad was a diabetic and we had to follow the diet closely) Now, tell him to mind me or I might have to come from Hong Kong and give him a beating!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!
Love ya, and am thinking of you!!!
