OT- Couponing/ Rebates anyone?
Any other couponers out there? Although I've been in a slump the last few months (not wanting to go shopping, coupons expiring, etc) I LOVE coupons. Rebates also. It can be addicting I cringe at paying "full price" *GASP*. I'm not cheap...just a bit frugal ;) . I stockpile too (sometimes). At the moment I'm low. I've got to get busy. Things I stockpile most are haircare, toothpaste & brushes, toilet paper (I haven't bought toilet paper in about 6 months. I stockpiled like 60 or so packs when it was on sale & free w/ coupons ). But we're on the last 2 packs now lol...like you wanted to know. Also , food stuff & condiments. Lots of stuff. & you should've seen the baby stockpile I kept while DD#3 was younger. Double coupon stores are GREAT! Also the rebate programs at the drug stores such as Rite Aid & Walgreens. & the CVS extra buck program is good too. Ladies could get cheap & free makeup thru the rebates. I don't wear it because of sensitive skin, but anyway. I could go on & on. Anyone else enjoy this or am I alone lol (probably alone on this one)? Oh well, more coupons for me ;) . So don't throw them away...send'm my way if you don't want them.
You so crazy - LOL- I just get this mental pic of you sitting there with mountains of ketchup, hairspray and toilet paper, just clippin them coupons....LOL...
Seriously though, that is an absolutely smart way to shop. I admit I don't take the time to do it, and not experienced enough to get the REALLY good coupon and rebate buys.....but I do comparison shop, make Walmart give me the milk at Kroger price (and anything else that is on sale somewhere else), and shop at "thrift" shops for LOTS of stuff...Where do you find the good coupons? I know Brookshire usually doubles, and don't they triple sometimes? I will definately be looking into this, Thanks....D.
I haven't had time lately, but hope to get started again. I comparison shop also. I can price match at Save Rite & Walmart. The only stores that double here in Laurel are Kroger (to .60), Sunflower (.60) & Piggly wiggly (.50 or .55). The last time I checked Krogers would only double 8 like coupons, but I've never had a limit at Sunflower or Piggly Wiggly. Piggly Wiggly is where I got all the free toilet paper LOL. I also got like 8 bags of Malt O Meal cereal there for .50 a bag a month or so ago. Kroger has good promos with Kelloggs alot. I got 4 boxes of cereal there for $3.00 after (4) $1.00 coupons & the buy 4 get $3.00 w/ Kroger card. Of course when it comes to food, the coupons are usually for convenience foods that dieters & especially post op WLS people don't need or can't have. Somethings I stockpile I also give to my mom cuz my girls are there alot visiting. I also share w/ my brother & sister & give to food drives & charity. & what I loved most about having a stockpile of baby items was not having to go out & buy baby shower gifts at the last minute. Lots of gift baskets were put together lol. About finding good coupons....thats a bit tricky. Sometimes you get ones that are very helpfull from Sunday paper....but its nice to get multiple coupons & I'm not buying multiple papers. My sister gives me hers & my mom when she gets one. There are websites for coupon clippers where you pay a certain amount per coupon. I've done that once. Also, I try to get on mailing lists for items I buy or I'm interested in. I go to coupon trading sites. My favorite at the moment is http://www.dealagogo.com/ . It is overwhelming. I'm no pro. THere's tons of info there. They are mostly "hardcore" couponers lol & unfortunately we don't have the 'great' super doubles & triples some of these folks do. WHat stores do you have in your area?
I'm in jackson reservoir area, Flowood. We have Kroger, walmart, Brookshires close by. Miss being near a Piggly Wiggly; they always had the best meat prices. There is a Sav-Rite (sp?) in Canton one town over, and probably still a pig-wig, but that is a little too far. Various and sundry drug stores. D
I use coupons every time I grocery shop. I don't go to Piggly Wiggly or Winn Dixie or anywhere like that, just the commissary. So it has to manufacturer coupons not for specific stores. I never ever pay full price for clothing, I am a clearance rack or sale girl!! Love to find a good sale!
Keep clippin' em.. It will pay off in the long run. Just think, if you would take the savings that you get from the coupons in throw it in a jar, how much money would you have saved??

They do not accept coupons here in HK but when they mark down meats which are still fresh, I dump them into my chest freezer that I bought from someone several years ago. Most people shop daily here, what a waste of time!!!!, so I utilize the freezer a lot and it is really cost saving. We also have a farmers market which is huge (several blocks) and you can buy 8 to 10 fresh apples or oranges for about $1.25, Green veggies are about 50cents for a large bunch for a meal and you can buy lots of other good stuff too! Canned things are expensive and we have very small selections of frozen pre-prepared meals, and they are very expensive..... At home, I use coupons and stock up with there is a good sale, my things are TP, Laundry detergent, Sugar (doesnt spoil)but now I dont use it, paper towels, and when cake mixes are on sale I used to freeze them too! Also coffee in the freezer! Milk can be frozen Just unthaw and shake! Like fresh ( We have UHT packets here) fresh is too expensive!
